Excellent parking facilities, warm, comfortable room and great breakfast selection - the latter was particularly welcome after the night before.

Other reviews consistently mention the excellent standard of staff/service, however, on both occasions I have stayed, this has not been my experience. I'm not one for nit-picking, and I generally disagree with people who pick fault at minor issues, but because the same thing has happened twice I feel I should comment. The reception staff on both occasions were having personal conversations across the counter while people waited to check in. During breakfast the next morning, the serving staff were very polite and helpful, although as we were leaving, the two members of staff by the exit decided it would be absolutely hilarious to adopt the mannerisms of 14 year old girls, complete with giggling, a sarcastic 'bye now' and a few evil glares thrown in. I've been a 14 year girl, but thankfully grew out of that behaviour. I can only imagine they were a little bit miffed they had to work on a Sunday morning, but that's life for you.

Having come from the seventh circle of hell of a certain Daresbury hotel that a corporate booking function required me to sleep at I could have slept in a skip behind the back of a supermarket and given this one three stars.

I arrived here.

Clean, friendly, awe inspiring surroundings, helpful staff, comfortable, well equipped, easy IT access, big room, all I need, happy people around and about.

Need I say more.

Cracking hotel. Thanks you for making the rest of my week better.

My husband and I stayed in one of the pitchview rooms for a surprise 30th Birthday treat. The room was a good size and very clean. For the quality and service, the price was very reasonable too. The bed was very comfortable and the view of the pitch from the window was brilliant! We watched the match from our room and at first thought there would be no atmosphere but this was not the case. we could here the fans below and felt part of the crowd - only warmer! The staff even placed banners and balloons around the room after I asked if this was possible. This was a really nice touch and they didn't even charge me. In the morning, we went for breakfast which was buffet style. There was so much choice and all the food was hot and well prepared. Throughout our stay, all the staff were very friendly and helpful and there were ample parking spaces. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We have since stayed at this hotel again and found the quality just as good. This is also the only hotel I have stayed in that had a powerful hairdryer. The only extra item i would have found helpful is a card with the basic information on such as check out times and room service hours but the staff happily answered our questions so this was not a problem. We will definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel on 5/7/13 for our wedding annerversary. We had a meal in the reflections restraunt and the food was fantastic, reasonabley priced 3 course £24. We sat in a booth looking out onto the stadium. Service was good although drinks a little pricey but this was to be exoected. Stayed on the first floor nice room, we did have an issue with noisey neighbours but the reception staff put a stop to it. Well done. Good nights sleep comfy bed, got up for breakfast about 0730, which was also great piping hot it was that nice i seriously thought of having more blackpudding and sauage, but i would have just been a pig as I had plenty first time round. All in all couldnt fault the place.

This is the first time we had visited this area, the reason was to cycle the Ironman route, when I told friends and family where we where going for the weekend they where sceptical. On arriving at the hotel at 2215hrs we where given a warm welcome from the receptionist, she inform us about breakfast and restaurant time and even answered our questions about the area and how to get to the various locations we wanted to visit.
The room was nice and clean, with a non squeaky bed! The tv work fine.

On the Saturday we enquirer about their gym and pool, the receptionist promptly ask a colleague to show us around, which they dully did, giving us the full tour. The pool is a nice size and the exercise room and equipment where a lot better then somewhere hotels I have stay at.

The only negative is the room does not have air conditioning, but the fan that was in the room work ok.

We enjoyed our stay and will booking again in the future.

Set within a stand of the modern Reebok Stadium, the De Vere Whites Hotel is in an area of significant redevelopment and has good road and rail links to the North West. I arrived by train, via Manchester, viewing the Reebok from the small Horwich Parkway station. I noted the rather large Tesco store to one side and what appeared to be a fashion centred retail village to the north.

The welcome and processing of my booking were carried out with typical northern banter. If I removed my glasses, I could almost imagine I was talking with Peter Kay.

My room was adequate, not as big as the last De Vere I visited, but with lots of extras - iron, ironing board, trouser press, bottled water, tea, coffee and drinking chocolate .... Good standard of decor, a king size bed and wardrobe space and hangers for a couple.

Full bath, with overhead shower - decent size for a hotel bathroom.

The public areas were spacious and suitably decorated. The bonus of a health centre provided a welcome opportunity for a workout. Meeting room was suited for the business carried out.

Overall, nothing to be critical about. A good mid-range option for a business meeting. Though, I assume a lot of guests come for the football.

A very acceptable modern hotel, with the usual level of accommodation and service expected from a De Vere hotel. Exceptionally good cooked breakfast; rooms clean and comfortable; staff helpful and friendly. Very close to Middlebrook retail park with its many shops, restaurants, cafes and cinema. Very well placed for access to motorway network.

We recently stayed at this hotel as our son was getting married nearby. I booked rooms weeks before and have never had such a stressful time dealing with a hotel booking system. I was informed that if I block booked several rooms it was cheaper. However friends managed to get a better deal online.
We stayed in a mixture of rooms. The pitch view rooms have air con but the other rooms do not and were very hot. Some have fans and some not.
Rooms are fairly small.
Toiletries provided were just a bar of soap and 1 tube of shower gel.
There are plenty of places to sit in the hotel near the bar area.
Gym and spa area were good with a decent size pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. Breakfast room was spacious and pleasant.
There are shops and plenty of eateries 5 mins walk away.

We stayed here for a conference and for that purpose it was great. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient; I asked one man behind the bar if there was anywhere I could buy any chocolate but sadly he said they didn't have any but even offered to go and get me some from their staff canteen! Needless to say I declined this kind offer. The only mistake that was made during our stay was that I ordered a vegetarian pie and a meat one arrived which they quickly changed with only a small delay and a huge apology. Our room was clean and very comfortable albeit quite small but perfectly adequate. Check in and out was quite quick even though the hotel was very busy.
Overall very pleased with our stay.

We had a cheap two night stay, paid extra for breakfast, which was very good. The health suite was great, lovely hot sauna and steam room ,my only critisism would be that there was nowhere to sit and relax. The staff are very friendly. Very good hotel to use as a base to see the surrounding area.
