Stayed at the De Vere Whites in August for two nights whilst down in the for an Indian wedding.

Found the complex to be of a high standard, and though we only went for the Bedroom only option, the evening meal that my children had was of a high standard.

Used the spa facilities twice and though the changing room facilities were a bit cramped, the swimming pool and rest of the spa areas were kept in a clean & tidy state.

Made a last minute booking when I had to pop over to visit a sick relative in hospital. Though it was over a weekend, luckily it was one with no league football, so the hotel was very quiet, and a fantastic rate of £49 per room pn was available . Got a room overlooking the pitch, which was a bonus. Clean airy and extremely comfy bed. Liked the swimming pool etc and the water temp was just right. All the staff were very helpful , efficient and friendly, though I suppose, in fairness there was very little to do, with so few guests in residence . Breakfast at £7 was excellent value (cheaper than going to Tesco's caff next door !) . I do not know what the normal rate would be here, but if you can secure a good price room,as I did, cheaper than the Premier Inns/Travelodges of this world, Whites offers great vfm.

I booked a room for my partners birthday, the room was nice and clean, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside to our stay was I had booked into the new serenity spa only to be called the day before to be told It had been pulled out of the hotel. So his birthday treat was not as special as I had wanted and the relaxing spa day which was his surprise, before our evening out didn't go as planned. I would have preferred more notice as I would then have booked a different hotel with spa treatments/facilities available.

I use this hotel four or five times a year, mainly because of a combination of its location & it being the best hotel in the area.

The team in the main under the leadership of an extremely professional General Manager usually deliver exceptional service and standards and whilst in the main on our most recent visit the same can be said I did have cause to raise concerns during our stay and at checkout.

I won't labour on all of the details, we were part of a large function in one of the venue's suites with around 550 people attending the function and a fair few of us statyed overnight. The function except for one 'glitch' was spot on in terms of service and quality.

The big disappointment was after the function where a siginificant chunk of those staying over extended the evening in the hotel bar. Although in your room the information booklet states the hotel runs a 24 hour bar the bar staff/Management came around at 02.30 informing us it was last orders as 'they needed to clean the area up'. There was no mess, our party were extremely well behaved and whilst you might argue 2.30 is late enough for anyone to be drinking as the facility is advertised, people were still drinking and enjoying themselves and I would have thought most importantly (from the hotel's point of view) still spending money and increasing their profits..
Also and amazingly although they offer a 24 hour room service facility and you can order food from the front of house staff they would only deliver it to your room and not serve it in the bar! More lost sales or you get inconsiderate guests (which we would not be) who could u8nder these conditions order enough food for say a dozen people who would then all pile into one room to finish their evening but probably at the expense of upsetting adjoining guests. I anticipate this piece of 'sales prevention' cost the hotel in the region of £200 - £500 in lost revenue - nice to be able to do that in recessionary times...............

Probably the biggest disappointment was when raising the points with the duty manager (GM was not available) I felt she was trying to justify the actions rather than recognising the hotel had faield to deliver on what it clearly states it will supply in its own brochures, furthermore I was asked for my phone number so that someone from the ops team could contact me the next day yet 48 hours on nothing..........

Don't let my 'griping' comments put you off, the facitlities (both public areas and bedrooms) and standards in the main are unrivaled in the area and I will be back myself.

Used this hotel whilst on a business trip. Overall i would say it's very average. Rooms ok, but a little cold with tiny duvets on the bed. Food in the restaurant was ok. No complimentary shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, which i found odd as usual get this at other hotels.

Very average business oriented hotel. I stayed there a lot, it's one of the better hotels in the area. Service is poor, food proves that England isn't famed for its cuisine. Rooms are clean overall it's forgettable but inoffensive. Best I can say is you won't hate it.

This was a nice hotel & I have attended functions here in the past but not stayed over. Check in was quick & the staff were friendly. I had an upgraded room to one of the penthouses & was looking forward to seeing it. When I got there & went to check out the view it was of the main road & considering some of the standard/superior rooms had pitch views I thought it strange that these didnt.
The rooms were big, living room, bedroom & huge bathroom. There was a docking station & 2 TV's but agin they were the old fashioned TV's rather than the flat screen so I think these rooms need a bit of an overhaul to bring them up to date.
I would stay at this hotel again but would probably just opt for a standard room as you would only be losing a living room & it would be a lot cheaper.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and it fits the bill perfectly for business trips. The pool, gym, sauna and steam room are all very good. Theres lots of parking and its near a large variety of restaurants. Breakfast is pretty good as is the food at the bar and the restaurant upstairs (which is quite pricey).

Free wifi in the rooms is super fast also, very handy!
