Afternoon Tea For Two, a birthday gift.Very enjoyable,warm scones particularly good.Clean but somewhat plain setting could do with putting more "character" into the area,which overlooked car park 😕.

We had a fantastic family celebration weekend here. The team made lots of effort to help us make it extra special, despite them being incredibly busy. Special shout out to syrus,who despite being incredibly busy and our family breakfast actually being chaos, stayed in such good humour, and franko and the two lovely girls who stayed late so we could continue celebrating 🎉 huge thank you for this, because I think some of party had a very late one !
The hotel it's self is lovely and cosy, perfect the autumn and winter get aways. Food is excellent. We've been coming here to celebrate mile stones for 30 years, we do miss the buffet style breakfast and wonder if this would make breakfast quicker? It's still delicious though but a 2 hour wait was quite long. The spa and pool are lovely it's a bit of a shame they've built in front of the spa pool because there did used to be such a lovely view. The spa, now needs a bit of a regrout and some broken rooms need to be fixed. Same goes for the bathrooms in the rooms just showing signs of wear and the tiles in the bathrooms can get very slippery too. Still super cosy, comfortable, vibes of Gilmore girls 🍂 the village gift shops are delightful.

An absolutely beautiful, wonderful, and stunning place – the atmosphere and architecture are breathtaking! While passing by with a group of friends, we decided to stop for coffee. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired: after placing our order at the bar, we were told we had to pick up the coffees ourselves. Since my wife couldn't possibly carry 6 coffees and a glass of wine at once, she kindly asked for them to be brought to our table, which was met with visible attitude and annoyance from the staff.
It took the waiter 20 minutes to bring the coffee (mind you, it was a Wednesday and the restaurant was far from busy!). When he finally arrived, he nearly spilled one of the coffees on us, brought only 4 sugar packets for 6 coffees 🤣, and provided neither teaspoons nor stirrers. When I politely asked for more sugar and a teaspoon, after another 10 minutes he returned with... 30 sugar packets and a handful of teaspoons!
I genuinely believe the waiters here should undergo some training, if only for the sake of their own feet – because instead of making a single efficient trip, he had to walk back and forth three times.
Despite this rather comical and clumsy service experience, the venue itself is definitely worth recommending!

Just come back from our 20th anniversary break ,we did the bed ,breakfast evening meal and spa overnight break and can honestly say it was the best hotel and spa we have ever stayed in ,food ,service and spa facilities were absolutely excellent staff in absolutely beautiful ground with some interesting little shops to browse ,all staff very friendly and attentive ,the rooms were extremely large and beautifully clean with large well appointed bathrooms and at under £200 for the 2 of us including a £10 drinks voucher as well which was a lovely little touch was extremely good value ,will definitely be back for our next anniversary break only which wed discovered it sooner as it's barley 10 miles away ! , previously we've travelled much further afield and not found one as good absolutely faultless on every level of our stay which we enjoyed immensely
