Stayed 2 nights in a standard room on 2nd floor. Room and bathroom were very clean but tired, and in need of an update. Looked as though shower unit had been replaced recently which was good.
Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and hot buffet constantly being refreshed. Downside was entire hotel seemed extremely hot especially the dining room making it unpleasant at breakfast time. Room so hot at night had to leave window open, but then had to suffer extremely loud extraction fans outside.
Overall stay was OK but Mercure need to upgrade entire hotel soon.

We needed to stay in the area for business and we were pleased with our choice of hotel. It has a very large and free car park.
We had a large room which was clean and well facilitated with good views across the surrounding countryside.
The hotel is a little dated, but practical.
Breakfast was good. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. In particular, Irene in the bar area was very helpful.

Myself and my husband had our anniversary party here on Saturday. The organisers and staff were fantastic from booking to the end of the night. They could not do enough for us. We stayed overnight and the room was clean and really comfortable. The breakfast was lovely. A special mention to the event organiser Katie who was amazing.

We pop in for a bite to eat from time to time on a Saturday. The food is always good but what makes the visit is Irene at the bar. She’s so friendly and always provides the greatest service. We no longer say ‘let’s go to the hotel’ we say ‘let’s go and see Irene’. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

Came to the hotel due to house renovations and I live locally. The hotel reception staff are friendly and smiley. Room is spotless can’t fault it. Special thanks to Irene on the bar who is absolutely lovely and helpful. Nothing is too much for her to help.

This Hotel is absolutely wonderful if you need a place to meet a client or hold a business meeting Great conference rooms for training days,
I was looked after by Irene who is amazing she really went above and beyond.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to any business.

My Mum & I booked in for afternoon tea and it was absolutely lovely. Fresh sandwiches, scones, lots of cakes and unlimited tea and coffee.. what’s not to love? We were greeted by the wonderful Irene, who couldn’t have been more welcoming, warm and friendly. Thank you so much for making our experience so special.

An amazing day, made by great staff with excellent attention to detail. We booked the Georgian house to host our wedding in June and from the initial meeting with Rochelle to checking out the day after we felt like our day was the most important of all. Rochelle is so attentive and no request was too much, we knew that we were in safe hands from the first meeting. Donna who supplied and dressed the room was so helpful and has a really great eye, we knew what we wanted and it was delivered perfectly. The catering team and the wedding breakfast served was amazing, the DJ was great and communicated prior so that we could give preference to music , happily taking requests on the night. Feedback from guests was great! The grounds outside are well kept and made for some great photos overall we would definitely recommend this venue.
