I have to say, that S&S is bang average, at best. The starter potato fritters are nice, but the staff knowledge and quality of the mains were lacklustre at best, a view also shared by my fellow diner and we are both curry aficionados with lots of experience. My main was the chicken chaat are recommended by the waitress and the pilau was insipid.

Considering the age of the place (indicated by the pink and peach bathrooms!) it really isn't too bad. The beds are massive and comfortable -- the doubles aren't even those fraudulent double-sheet-over-two-singles jobs. The bar is decent and the breakfast is actually really very good and with excellent black pudding. Minus points for bringing me american mustard when I requested mustard...
