Stayed for 3 nights while visiting family. Room was on the 5th floor. Very quiet which I liked. Had to pay £8 for the cooked breakfast which was okay and nothing fancy. Plenty of parking space. Free wifi in the room.

We stayed on 14/06/14
Upon arrival the lady at reception was very welcoming, and very helpful. Very clean and all staff I seen was more than polite.
We was given a room on the road side , absolutely no problems with noise of traffic and we kept window open all night at that.
Was one of the best nights sleep id had in a long time comfy pillows !
Room was very clean and spacious.
Only been back 3 hours and booked for another night in 2 weeks time.
I Recommend this hotel to everybody.

I had a room booked in this hotel , the reservation was made by my company
The reservation was for 7 nights. The amount of 900 pounds was blocked on my card before I had any say in it. I find this an affront. Apparently the lobby staff could not unblock this amount and they were only following "rules". Enough to say I did not stay so I can not comment on the Hotel internals. I was promised that the monies will be unblocked the next day. Let's see.
The comment by the young reception said it all ( to her colleague ) " could you please show me how to check in someone for more than one night"!!!

Decent rooms,Food is not exciting and best to eat out.Great views over football pitch.High drink prices. Nearby train station gives easy access to Manchester,Blackpool etc.Reasonable rates for what you get.Staff in breakfast area a bit disjointed but nothing really poor.

I Can’t quite believe it’s taken me this long to getting round to writing a review… my apologies.

So in total I spent a total of SEVEN Months consecutively residing at the Bolton Whites hotel and it was a very pleasant experience. Coming off the back of Spending 14 months in a hotel I had high expectations and I’m sure more than one ‘unusual’ request. I have to say the staff here met this with a fantastic attitude and proactive approach.

Service- As far as the service goes I cannot fault anything in this department. The staff here really went above and beyond the call to accommodate not just me as a ‘long stay’ but I noted several nice extra touches done for guests staying simply for a night or weekend. I feel if you have a little request you should definitely ask as they are very accommodating!

Value- Very hard for me to judge this as it was a business stay. I originally did feel the food was a touch pricy however the reflections menu and quality of food is exactly spot on for price. There has however been a fantastic addition of a carvery option which is a Bargain for what it costs so I would urge Sunday travellers to book in for that.

Sleep Quality- Excellent! I spent a few weeks in a pitch view room and the remainder in executive room and had no problems sleeping. The noise elimination is fantastic and I even slept through a couple of matches playing right outside my window as you will see from pictures. This is nothing to do with the quality of football I assure you I was just working nights.

Cleanliness- I owe a massive thank you to the cleaning department. The hotel was fresh as ever and I had a fantastic double act who’s names escape me. if you’re on the 6th floor around room 621 and some Portuguese ladies are cleaning your room… be nice and smile. They are amazing and do a fantastic job!

Location- One of my little sore points is that it is a little in the middle of nowhere. Now in terms of shopping, food, attractions like cinema bowling etc it is PERFECTLY located and within a 10 minute walk you will be in touching distance of everything you need including a train station with direct links to Manchester. However if it is a night out you’re after it will be a cab job back.

Rooms- I cannot say enough as they speak for themselves. If you can…. GET A PITCH VIEW ROOM! It’s just a unique and different experience that I would advise above and beyond a suite in all honesty. Many hotels have suites…. Not many can have you wake up and open the curtains to some hallowed turf!
Spa- I did not actually use the spa facilities as I can’t swim but I used the gym on several occasions. It is quite small however it has what you need and the gym team are more than willing to give a hand and advice.

Breakfast- what can I say about breakfast and the F&B team. In fact the catering side as a whole and bar staff were a god send. The food is great and always plenty on offer. Requests can be made for food choices and odd extras (I must have had 1000 cups and jugs of ice brought over). The team really was fantastic and I appreciate everything they do. Special mentions for Kevin, Lee, Vera, Olivia, Charmaine & Tamsen among many more.
In General I would like to say a thank you to Emma, ‘Uncle Buck’, Suzanne, Claire & Adam who really did do the hotel proud. There are several I haven’t mentioned but I’m conscious this is getting to be a long review but the front of house team were excellent, always positive irrespective of what was going on and the night porters came in handy on many an occasion.

I would recommend anyone considering staying to discount my words as proof and simply see for yourself.

Very basic hotel. The room was dark and pokey and the TV was about 30 years old!!! It was ok for one night. Breakfast was pretty bog standard too. Everything under heat lamps. Bar staff were very good, reception staff were average. As for all the photos they show you of the rooms overlooking the pitch and other rooms beware because they do have some tiny rooms they can stick you in! Quite clean but basic.

Location
We stayed at Whites for two nights (Sunday/Monday) as we were attending a business conference at the Macron (formerly Reebok) Stadium. It was the perfect location for the conference and close to retail park, but don’t be expecting nice views or scenic surrounds.

After check in we discovered that we had been given an internal facing room. The only window faced inside – a view of the main staircase from reception. Zero natural light at all, think internal cabin on a cruise ship! We immediately asked to be changed, which to be fair they moved us.

Room and sleep quality
Room was of fairly bland decor, but the bed was comfortable. Slight traffic noise on the main road outside at night. All in all it was acceptable, however, this semi-tranquillity was soon shattered. We had a very early wake up from the retail park lorries (those reversing warning beeps!).

Food
Very poor, mass produced and poor value for money. To be avoided. We decided to eat out for breakfast and dinner the second day.

Staff
Cleaning staff were of a high standard. We called room service to ask for de-caffeinated tea, I even volunteered to go down and collect it. My call was passed through to the bar, where I was told someone would come up and give us some. No one came up. Not what you’d expect from a De Vere hotel on a fairly quiet Sunday night.

Conclusion
Left feeling very underwhelmed. We paid a bit extra to stay here (rather than the cheaper options nearby) so that we could walk to the conference we were attending. We thought that the De Vere brand was of a high standard, but discovered that this isn’t’ always the case. If we are returning to Bolton, I’d be tempted to look elsewhere. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either.

nice hotel just 20 minutes from Manchester based at the old Reebok stadium now renamed Macron as they are sponsors for the next 4 years. Good business hotel as there are plenty of seating areas for meetings. Rooms are clean and tidy. Leisure facilities are also good and included in the room rate. Plenty of eating places on the doorstep if you don't want to eat in.

A group of us stayed at Whites before Christmas. We all walked to a great Chinese Restaurant around the corner in the retail park. This is a good business hotel with some great rooms that are now good value. The hotel needs a refurb and some modern TV's though.

We stayed the night after the wedding which to be fair was decent. Good room.clean and good enough. Our only problem really was the bar staffs attitude on the night of our wedding. Really rude once or twice to our guest who asked for highchairs.. which we asked for the night before..lack of communication between staff.then they lost our chair covers and center pieces. Good but be carefully if booking for a wedding or party. . Make sure you get everything in writing after the cock up we had to which they did well and was lucky we could change day if good time..good but wont be rushing back.
