About Zac’s Youth Bar

Zac’s Youth Bar is part of The Sycamore Project, an independent Christian Charity which was set up by a group of people from local churches in 1995.

Zac's Youth Bar is for everyone from school age Year 6, aged 11-18, or up to 25.

What they do

Zac’s Youth Bar is a fun, exciting and safe place for young people. Their aim is to guide young people to make the right life choices. They offer care, support and activities to around 1,400 young people a year across Bolton from their base in Farnworth.

The key areas in which they focus on with the young people in our town are: Enterprise, Employment and Leadership, Inspiring Change and Health and Wellbeing

There’s always so much going on at Zac’s, we can’t list everything here but this is just a few of the things they offer:

The Youth Bar – Bar nights and a weekly drop in happen every Friday and Saturday, it’s loud and lively and a great place for young people to be.

After School Activities – On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings there’s always so much going on after school. Crafts, socialising and so much more!

One to one support and mentoring – Zac’s offer one to one support with such a wide range of problems, whether it be homelessness or homework, you name it they’re here to help!

The Healthy Mind Project – Every Monday there is a weekly support group learning and improving mental wellbeing. Also there Listening Service provides one to one sessions by appointment.

Farnworth Youth Forum – The youth forum is a group of teenagers from the local area, working together to help the community and other young people locally.

Life Skills – Takes place every Wednesday and covers topics such as cooking and cleaning skills, money and budgeting, time management.

Zac's Mobile Bar - As well as the base in Farnworth and the building at Prestolee the team take the mobile bar (a drinks can on wheels) out on detached work, meeting young people' where they are' in Farnworth, Little Lever and Kearsley.

The Local Community

The young people at Zac’s are always getting involved with the local community in so many ways. They hold regular activities and events to raise funds such as garden makeovers, litter picking, bag packing, car washing and so much more.

Not only that, they also do a lot of work in local schools. Zac’s Youth and Schools Workers are there to offer support to local pupils, do assemblies, lunch clubs, after school clubs creatively challenging anti-social behaviour and raise aspirations.

How you can get involved

As Zac’s Youth Bar is a charity, everything they do requires funding. links and support are needed from businesses, schools, churches, community groups, individuals; anybody who can offer financial support, regular giving, practical support, volunteering, sponsorship, patronage, trusteeship, carry out a sponsored event, dress down day - your help would make a difference!

They hold regular fundraising events, and always try to encourage young people to hold their own events too!

Zac's is a wonderful charity to get involved with - if you think you can help in any way email Tracey Wilkinson at getinvolved@zacsyouthbar.co.uk or phone 01204 706 200.
