We have been coming to the Olympus for years, and always enjoyed the food and service. Today we felt the pianist, although he was excellent, was playing far too loudly. I mentioned this at the counter when I went to pay, and the gentleman said the pianist doesn't normally play so loudly, but he would have a word and ask him to tone it down a bit. Nothing happened, he carried on playing very loudly, which actually spoilt our meal, and we couldn't wait to get out. We have been many times when the pianist has been playing lovely background music, but not today. I am sorry to say we won't be going again.

I've been visiting Bolton for years and amazingly have never noticed this place especially as it's huge. Was invited to a family 60th and was impressed with the place the minute I walked in. The largest and poshest chippy I've ever been in.
However that's where the good review ends. Ok , the service was fantastic but we are talking about food and it was massively overpriced for what you got. I had the special , which was a very small fish and a few chips. It came with a side of mushy peas which I don't like so I was able to change this for gravy which was thin and tasteless and looked like dirty dishwater . Can't fault the taste of the haddock and chips but overall just too small portions and too high a price. I've been to Whitby a few times and their chippys wipe the floor with this place.

Slightly bizarre in that although you are taken to your table you have to order and pay at the bar. Apart from that it was a wonderful experience. The haddock was fresh and perfectly cooked, the chips were delicious and the scone was as good as it gets. Full marks

Unexpected pre-theatre bonus!
We hoped to find a quick bite to eat before theatre and stumbled upon this gem!
Spotlessly clean, great welcome and service, freshly cooked, gorgeous good all accompanied by beautiful music played on a grand piano.
Can't wait to return and booking our theatre trip JUST to come back for dinner!

The menu is not as great as that in the past. I miss fish pie and some other dishes that don’t offer now. Overall, it is still a very nice restaurant.

Staff are really friendly when they greet you. Lovely and clean restaurant. I had the fish chips and peas and it was delicious. Crispy batter on the fish, not greasy at all. Chips were proper chips and not frozen ones. I would definitely recommend coming here for something to eat, you won't be disappointed.

If you are a pensioner you are getting a good deal. Expensive for fish and chips had better for much less of the price. Good customer service and great atmosphere.
