Yesterday we purchased an electric vehicle from Fishmotors. We came here because they had the best price we could find. It was a great experience from start to finish. Within minutes of arriving and requesting a test drive, we were out in the car. Matthew made the purchasing of the vehicle quick and easy, completing the road<br>tax and V5 logbook update for us. The service was very friendly and welcoming. The car was given to us clean and freshly MOT'd. We would recommend Fishmotors to anyone looking to buy a car.

This is my second car I have bought from fishmotors and I can highly recommend them , I originally bought a volvo almost 8 years ago and when it came time to get something smaller I didn't give it a second thought and contact this company.<br>Ps I would also like to thank chis who took us through all the steps needed to purchase our new car

I purchased my first car, a Fiesta, from Fish Motors in June last year. Initially, the buying process was smooth, but there were some major issues along the way that left me disappointed.<br><br>The Good:<br>• The team were helpful during the car buying process.<br>• They kept me updated on the collection date and arranged a test drive with no issues.<br>• They also sorted my road tax while I was there, which was a nice touch.<br><br>The Bad:<br>• When I applied for finance through their provider, I was declined, and nobody from the garage updated me. I had to chase the finance company myself to find out. Luckily, I found my own finance provider who agreed to pay the garage directly, and the issue was sorted.<br>• Upon getting home, I realised the car came with no service history, which wasn’t mentioned at the time of purchase. I immediately booked a major service for peace of mind.<br><br>The Ugly:<br>• 1,000 miles in: The engine light came on with a P0299 underboost code. Diagnosis showed a sticking wastegate, which cost £720+VAT to repair. I also replaced the battery and spark plugs, bringing my total repair costs to over £1,000—not ideal after just a month of ownership.<br>• 7,000 miles in: The engine oil warning light and engine management light appeared. After towing the car to a garage, the inspection revealed that the wet timing belt had lost 3 teeth, the engine was out of time, and the oil pickup strainer was completely blocked. This repair cost me another £1,200+VAT, bringing my total repair bills to over £2,000 in just over 7 months!<br><br>Fish Motors’ Response: I contacted them, explaining that the inspection reported the underboost code had been present and turned off before sale and that the oil pickup strainer was already blocking up when I bought the car. Their response? “We can provide you with the service we did, but that’s it—you won’t get anything else.” No real support was offered for what was a catastrophic failure so soon after purchase.<br><br>Final Thoughts:<br><br>While the car buying process was smooth, the lack of communication regarding finance, the missing service history, and the major repair bills so soon after purchase were disappointing. As a first-time buyer, I expected more transparency and better after-sales support. If you’re considering buying from Fish Motors, get the car inspected before purchase and be prepared for potential issues.<br><br>10/03 Edit: Now in ongoing discussions regarding this with the dealership.<br><br>Update: Received £200 compensation towards the £1200 repair bill by Chris at Fish Motors.

My Husband recently bought a car from Fishmotors. Our sales person was Matthew and he was great. Communication was excellent always keeping us in the loop. No pressure approach. We had a few issues with car which he sorted right away. Couldn’t be happier and honestly can’t recommend enough
