Room was very comfortable with 2 chairs and table to relax in. Bed was excellent and the shower was amazing. Another plus was that there were two mirrors - one over the dressing unit and a long mirror near bathroom. We did not use the spa facilities but there were plenty of people in white dressing gowns so it did appear to be popular. The bar area was very nice and the restaurant was excellent. The food and service were amazing and we can definitely recommend the steak. There was a good choice at breakfast and again the staff were very friendly and attentive

The deive upto the hotel is lovely....the building is beautiful with many original features

Staff are well presented and helpful

We had a double room in the courtyard....nice size and airy , however it's pretty noisy from 6am with staff arriving or leaving via the rear driveway behind the rooms.. the wheely bins are also close and can hear smashing of bottles etc.

Our room had a cupboard door hanging off, cobwebs everywhere and over the door frames.
Bathroom sink was also loose and if you lent on it it came away from the wall.
Shower was huge albeit not very powerful

Bed was comfy as were the pillow's, we had a good couple nights sleep..

Breakfast.....was expecting better from such a nice hotel but the products weren't good quality, the sausages were cheap ,beans tasteless and bacon incredibly salty
Can request eggs done how you like but no mushrooms or plum tomatoes ( which is the norm up north)
There was fruit and a few pastries , yoghurt but a big bowl which everyone dipped in

We has 3 course meals included with our stay which was lovely and tasty, albeit a little odd some of the dishes , who has mash with salmon ???
Didn't use the spa but wouldn't hesitate to stay again and use the spa.
Treatments are expensive but cheaper if booked as a spa day
Overall its lovely but does need a few touches looking at

Lovely comfortable bed and great bathroom. Receptionist was very helpful as was the chambermaid who gave us extra tea etc. when we ran out.
This is an old manor house needing renovation in places but still charming. The grounds are extensive and beautifully kept. Hubby enjoyed the spa facilities.Would definitely stay again.

Its a lovely old Grade II listed building set in its own grounds and so very popular for parties and weddings.
We have been going for many years and the service is very good. The staff turnover is low which makes us feel more welcome as we see the same faces. The new chef has made a huge difference to the dining experience, with locally sourced produce - very good quality and we absolutely loved the Steak Ciabatta for lunch.
Thank you for looking after us so well!

Brilliant hotel, no complaints whatsoever… although a map on arrival would have been handy as it’s like a maze!

Room was lovely, beds comfy and generally nice and clean, pool with my daughter was canny but designated times for children. Breakfast nice too and staff were all very pleasant

Lovely hotel with loads of character. Room was spacious and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special - not much better than a Premier Inn, and the corridors really could do with a lick of paint - they look like they were last decorated in the ‘80s. And why charge for using the pool - I’ve stayed in numerous hotels with pools over the years and this is the first one which levied a charge? Fortunately we were staying for a few days and could make good use of it (it costs the same however many times you go).

And yes, if mobility is an issue, make sure you get a room near reception - ours was a significant distance away down seemingly endless corridors.

On our arrival the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which they all were throughout our stay. Our room was an disabled accessible one and very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent, we only had one evening meal in the hotel but it was superb my wife had a sirloin steak which she said was veryvery good and I had a pea rissotto we was excellent. for dessert we had creme brulee which also excellent. The only complaint we had was it was difficult to navigate through some of the doors with a wheelchair.

We enjoyed our short stay at the hotel. Though certainly an old building, it felt to be steeped in history and had many features that made it look grand and stately.
The room was comfortable - furniture in keeping with the age of the building - was good enough to sleep in. Decent food and breakfasts

Big shout out for Liam at the Bar - super helpful and friendly to all the people he served! - He typified the cheerfulness of the staff we encountered and I would recommend a stay there. Value for money

The spa treatment a facial and back massage was absolutely amazing, so calming and really helped me with my stress. Had the lovely Annika who was so so sweet and bubbly, and recommended the products that could help me out with my skin, thank you for an amazing experience x

Reception staff member was absolutely lovely upon arrival, the building is fabulous too. And free parking!

However, the windows in our courtyard room were so drafty even when closed a cold breeze came in all night, but more importantly the bathroom door handle is faulty and I was locked in the bathroom!! I understand these things happen but it took over 20 minutes for someone to arrived with a screwdriver.. it was really stressful. The rooms are lovely but definitely need some maintenance.
