Great little hidden gem in the area!
I had a place to stay for business needs and it offers a very good experience for my stay.
It has good reception service, good rooms food and gyms.
Gyms is incredible great, complimentary to hotel guest, comprehensive gym equipment and clean and safe environment.
Service is nice with the room service, room cleaning is great everyday as well. Reception service is top notch, they are always with smile and happy to answer any question and help. Thank you Julia to help me check in and answer my room service call when I needed. She is always with her big smile and being helpful and make sure I have a pleasant stay.
Breakfast is decent, lots of food options. Bar is alright, food is 6/10 not perfect but the vibe is good.

What a fantastic hotel. On arrival, the staff made us feel very welcome. The food was outstanding, the rooms cleaned to a very high standard. I also want to point out that Aziz provided a fantastic service, remembering things about us. This made our stay extra special. We won’t hesitate to book again when in the area. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay at the Mercure Blackburn with my partner, our son, and myself, and I honestly couldn’t fault a single thing. We stayed in a double room which was spotless and so well presented.
On arrival, Sam greeted us and provided a really helpful welcome information guide that covered absolutely everything you’d need to know, including children’s pool times and even a WhatsApp contact number. Any questions I had were answered within 5 minutes of messaging, which was amazing service.
In the morning, Arica and Julia were so helpful and kindly directed me to the spa and honestly it was fantastic! Great for the kids & the spa is fantastic for the adults ! Such a relaxing experience.
This really is a hotel for everyone. Every member of staff we came across was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely lovely. We always love staying here and will 100% be coming back again.
Thank you so much! 💖

It may have been raining and cold, but an exceptionally warm and friendly welcome from Julia at reception set the tone for a comfortable stay.

We stayed at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa this weekend and would rate it 3 out of 5.
First impressions weren’t great due to confusing car park signs stating £10 for 24 hours for hotel guests, which hadn’t been mentioned when booking. However when entering our car reg into the touch screens at reception it said parking was free. Clearer signage would avoid that initial frustration. Check-in was also a little slow at first.
Our courtyard-style room (separate from the main building) was clean and had everything we needed. Unfortunately, we didn’t sleep well. The roller blind fell down during the night and couldn’t be reattached, so courtyard lights shone into the room all night. The pillows were very firm, the bed was two singles pushed together, and there was some radiator noise clicking in the morning.
The spa facilities themselves are nice. Unfortunately the robes had run out for my husband & it was quite busy, with most loungers reserved by towels, and around an hour before closing a sleep and wellness session began setting up while guests were still using the pool. The organiser repeatedly came through with large boxes, left doors open letting cold air in, inflated around 10 lilos and moved equipment around us. Although apologetic, the noise and disruption took away from what should have been a calm atmosphere, specially being valentine’s evening so we left earlier than planned.
Breakfast was good, with a nice cooked selection and fresh fruit, and we appreciated being able to use the spa again before checkout. However, due to the spa disruption, confusing parking signage and poor night’s sleep, we likely wouldn’t return.

Purchased a day pass for the Spa.
The staff were very helpful, the Thermal Rooms (sauna and steam rooms) were good. The pool however was freezing! This did unfortunately spoil the day. There was a jacuzzi too, however this was attached to the pool, and therefore also freezing. There was a sign on entry regarding the temperature of the pool, and that it is "under investigation". However, there was no warning of this when booking, which is disappointing.
Otherwise, a really lovely Spa, if the temperature on the pool was fixed I would revisit again.
