I went here with my sister and stayed overnight. We had a lovely twin bedded room. The beds were very comfortable. The evening meal was really nice (the only thing that spoilt it was the music being played- not conducive to having a nice relaxing evening meal) The breakfast could not be faulted it was excellent. Service good in all quarters from reception to leaving.

Staff were lovely and attentive, they ensured we knew where to go for the Spa, sat us down to have afternoon tea.
They included sandwiches, dainty cakes and scones.
Offered us fruit juices and a coffee each.
Then gave us a fluffy robe, slippers and towels
The pool and lounger area was clean and tidy.
Separate steam and sauna area was so pretty.
The only disappointment was the pool was quite cold and the jacuzzi is open in the pool so it was as cold, we couldn't relax in there and got out quite quickly.
Other women there commented the same and then they didn't return to the pool or jacuzzi. It's ok if you prefer to do laps up and down though my

This is my special place from tge moment you enter the spa you are welcomed with a smile and s drink. The pool area is so relaxing and easy to navigate if you have mobility issues. Treatments make you feel amazing,relaxed and ready to tap back into life. Afternoon tea just what i ordered love love lived it all. See you soon

We stayed for one night in the Courtyard rooms. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, from checking in at reception through to dinner. The drinks were reasonably priced with a decent wine menu. We had purchased a dinner voucher so received £60 credit towards our meal. We had a steak and the lancashire hotpot, with a diet coke and a small glass of red wine - it cost us around £20 additionally but the food was beautiful and well worth it. Breakfast the next morning was well cooked and fresh, so no complaints there either. Staff were friendly and on the ball on both occasions. The room was clean but slightly dated, it would have benefitted from a fresh lick of paint and some minor cosmetic updating i.e ceiling was peeling, some tiles were cracked. The bathroom was small but functional. The hairdryer needed replacing as it sounded like it was about to blow up when in use! Our main issue was the temperature; the room was extremely hot, despite all the radiators being off and the windows open. We did phone through to reception to query this as we couldn’t find a thermostat anywhere, the desk lady kindly offered us a different room but it was already quite late by this point so we declined and made do with open windows for the night. Overall, we would probably stay again if in the area.

Very tired looking in places, needs a good deep clean.
Service at bars, awful. Had to wait 45 mins to get served in bar. Finished our first drink by the time food arrived.
Evening was even worse, got told to be seated by 6.30 to eat at 7. Still waiting at 7.45pm. Vegan option bland and lack of vegetables. Would not recommend.

Stayed for one night to break journey to Scotland. Stables room spacious and clean but a little cold as only a small electric heater which was not on when we arrived and took a long time to heat room. Spa was good with a very good pool and choice of steam rooms and sauna. Non hotel guests can be members of the Spa so it may be busy on occasions, but fine when we were there. One issue was the male and female changing rooms had been swapped over for maintenance reasons which could be confusing and a man walked into the female changing rooms. This needs to be addressed with clearer signage. All staff friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant was very good for evening meal and our waitress Chloe looked after us very well. Breakfast was normal hotel buffet style but nice with a good choice. Overall very good value and would definitely stay here again.

We just want to say that the staff and accommodation is 5* all of the staff deserve praise especially, Sam on Reception who always greats us with a smile and professionalism. Thank you to all for making us feel welcome it’s a home from home.

Excellent spa day! Feeling completely refreshed and relaxed after our Spa day today. All staff here are lovely and made up feel do at ease. Facilities are really good which includes sauna, Steam rooms, pool and very comfortable loungers for chilling round the pool. Our treatments included salt and oil scrub, body polish and pregnancy treatment all of which were outstanding. Afternoon tea was beautiful with a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate and delicious sandwiches and cakes. Very clean changing rooms with hot showers and free lockers. We have been to spa naturel here at mercure dunkenhalgh lots of times already and can't wait to return again:)

Cameo Restaurant was lovely food and the waitress Lilly was so polite and so helpful, Thankyou! I would definitely recommend.
