Ursula in the restaurant at breakfast was rushed off her feet , but never stopped smiling and looking after a full restaurant of clients. She was so polite and helpful and a credit to the hotel.
The stay was fantastic the room 88 charming with beautiful views. The food last night on the function was excellent. The chef made the best butter pie.
Over all the stay was amazing

we went with Crosskeys coach company from the 18th to 22nd august. and met and greeted by Neil, and taken to our room 108 by Lily who was very helpful, as i was pushing my wife in her wheelchair. the room was spacious clean and tidy. only downside was the toilet seat as it was too low for my disabled wife, to get down on to it. also could do with a hand rail to get out the shower. apart from that no complaints, the bed was comfortable and it was so quiet and peaceful. the cleaners came in each day to clean and leave clean towels.
the staff both at breakfast and dinner were good and helpful and friendly, and Lily and Daneille went out there way to help us at all times at dinner . as did many others the food was good and well cooked and if there was anything we didn't like they would ask the chef to change it, which he did.
the staff at the bar again all helpful and friendly and made us welcome.
Hopefully we will go back again one day and i would recommend this hotel, in a lovely part of Blackburn. no complaints from us.
with 3 coaches and other guests it was busy but all staff coped well
thank you all for making our stay a pleasant one.

My sister and I stayed for 4nights as part of a coach party, the room was lovely and clean and spacious the staff were polite and friendly, the food was delicious and given plenty of choice the hotel inside and out is beautiful, and we made use of the gym and spa which was a added bonus. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Dunkenhalgh hotel and spa, thank you for a great stay,

Had a very pleasant stay at The Dunkenhalgh for one night. Rooms were clean and large. All staff were friendly. We ate at the hotel’s restaurant and the food was nice although menu rather limited. A very helpful staff member called Isabel offered to bring us the bar menu to increase our choice and this was particularly well received by my daughter who is somewhat fussy. Had a good night’s sleep - our rooms were well away from a wedding reception that was taking place and were therefore nice and quiet. Short relaxing break - just what we needed.

We were on a coach holiday.
The bedrooms were spacious and very clean. Tea and coffee available and more given when asked. The toiletries were quite good.
Reception staff were always polite and very helpful and on hand throughout the day and night.
The restaurant staff were amazing and rushed off their feet. however not the food! The evening meal arrived cold on several occasions, which considering we were asked to choose the night before what we required the following night, there isn't really an excuse food food not to be hot. Also not any organisation on giving out the meals - just staff wandering around asking who has ordered what and considering the ages of some of the coach they more likely just didn't hear them! In fact I would say the food was poor quality.
In fact I felt sorry for the staff trying to manage something so unorganised and managing to be polite and considerate at the same time.

Lovely period building. Reception welcoming, bar small but well stocked, service/cocktails a little slow.

Room spacious but run down, missing elements from a 4* accommodation, no mini bar or water available in room. Maintenance issues throughout, ironing board broken and unstable, TV didn’t work at all and would not power on. Holes in wall patched and painted amateurish and obvious, bathroom extractor removed and hole covered by a grate coming away from the wall. No cold water coming out of the taps/shower only options were tepid or scorching.

Room was located directly next to a function room which had a very lively Indian wedding party until the early hours, however rooms were well soundproofed and no noise from the function disturbed.

Breakfast in the morning wasn’t worth the abhorrent fee for a poor buffet, bacon overcooked, sausages poor quality, scrabbled eggs from a packet over cooked, coffee machine temperamental, no black pudding, poached eggs or eggs benedict only available at additional fee.

Didn’t visit the spa due to no treatments available when booking which was a shame as we wanted to spend the following day being pampered through our hangover before travelling home.

From the drive up to the hotel, to the grounds to the rooms everything was spot on. The staff were all so lovely and attentive, really polite. And the spa services, OMG! I came for a solo spa weekend to relax and unwind after a particularly stressful period and this certainly did the job.
The only thing I would make a suggestion for would be spa brochures with the treatments available, and room service menus in the rooms.
