Easy to find traveling from the north, nice check in and lovely room .
Bar was very expensive and food not cheap either. Henry behind the bar wasn't very clean , his shirt was ripped under his arm and stains on the front not good when serving food and drink .
Food was being delivered from the kitchen and no one was sure who had ordered, was a bit like faulty towers , staff running around with trays of food .
Breakfast was a bit disappointing aswell, for the price it wasn't that good , only 5 warm items for full English and continental wasn't much better only offering around 3 to 4 items . Staff on Breakfast were very nice and chamber maids nice , overall was a nice stay but a bit over priced for what you get .

Very comfortable family room, recently refurbished. Comfortable beds. Bathroom with shower and bath.

Welcoming helpful staff in reception, bar/lounge and housekeeping.

Excellent meal in Bar/Lounge. Served on hot plates - always a plus.

Room and meal represented good value for money.

Would definitley recommend and stay again.

Only minor draw back long walk from reception and other facilities to family rooms but baggage carts available.

We stayed at the Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa over the bank holiday weekend and had an absolutely amazing time. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome – everyone was genuinely friendly and helpful, which really set the tone for a relaxing stay.

The hotel itself is stunning, full of character and charm, and the food was honestly to die for. Every meal we had was delicious – beautifully cooked and full of flavour. It really added that extra touch of luxury to our stay.

The spa facilities were lovely and made for a perfect bit of indulgence. The only minor hiccup we experienced was around the spa package – we were told on two separate occasions that our booking didn’t include robes, when in fact it did. Thankfully, the team were able to confirm this with the hotel quickly (only took five minutes), so it wasn’t a big deal, just something that could be improved with a bit better communication between departments.

All in all, we had a brilliant time and wouldn’t hesitate to return. A great place for a relaxing getaway – highly recommended!

Staff were excellent and check in was a breeze even late at night. Room was modern, spacious and had all the usual amenities and furniture. Very comfy bed and clean room. Spa was great in the morning and I almost had it to myself pool is small but big enough. Saunas and steam rooms are great.

We booked this property as a one night stop in the middle of a long journey. We booked because it looked like an old grand house and had onsite parking. We were not expecting anything flash and that was OK for the location and price point. The hotel is old and dated. However our room was spacious, clean with a king bed! What a nice surprise after some decidedly small “double” beds in the UK. Nice bathroom too. Breakfast was adequate, nothing special. All in all the stay was better than anticipated.

I was met by Samual (Samayela) who checked me in; he was warm, friendly and welcoming and even escorted us to our rooms to ensure all was OK.
This level of service continued throughout our stay, including in the restaurant with Aziz, who made sure we had everything we wanted - superb.

Additional friendly and efficient help was provided by Emma and Curtis, who also made sure we were well catered for on booking.

We were in the Executive rooms which were excellent; spacious and clean with a superb TV. My only criticism is there is no complimentary bottled water in the room, nor a fridge, nor a safe - I thought this strange as it was an Executive room.

However, Samual sorted water out for me immediately, again illustrating great service.

I am booking again for my next visit.

Thank you Dunkenhalgh Team.

I enjoyed my 1-night stay at Mercure Blackburn. Staff were friendly and professional to everyone. Special mention to Priya at the reception desk for his hospitality. Rooms were clean and spacious. The gym was well-equipped with free weights, mats, and machines for different types of training (e.g., strength, cardio, core, etc.). I feel the hotel can improve guests' gym experience by installing additional wall mirrors in the weight training areas. That way guests can inspect their form in the mirror when performing strength training exercises.
