This is a beautiful but now slightly dated hotel (single glazing so some M65 noise, no aircon, poor wifi when we visited) but with excellent service at breakfast, dinner, reception and throughout.
Please beware "offer" emails from Accor though - in our experience, these are usually just prepayments that don't actually give any discount, and hotel staff are not informed about what Accor are saying - the new computer system isn't currently helping. Staff even found and posted my wife's lost phone - we're relieved it arrived back OK without wrapping!
Overall, great place, food and folks, just be realistic about its age and the corporate comms...

Good morning all,
Stayed at the lovely dunkenhalgh hotel the week commencing 6th May 2026 from the moment I entered I was greeted by the lovely priya he made sure everything ran smoothly and easily.
Before entering the scenery bar and was served by the amazing bar tender Chloe, she gave me excellent service at the table which allowed me to relax after a long travel and even went out her way to explain everything on the bar menu as I am gluten free.
Later this evening, I dined in the restaurant and even just the settings was perfect before being directed to my table and served by a nice ladys named Courtney and Carla. Courtney went out of her way to speak to me about my plans for the week and overall did everything to make me feel comfortable.
I would just like to say thankyou dunkenhalgh and Id recommend this place in a heart beat.

Fabulous staff this weekend who looked after us all. Mal who was on the bar spoke so nicely to the other members of staff which was lovely to see. Carla and Eden were also superb and efficient with our 3 course meal. A well put together hotel and team work.

Came to check in receptionist struggled to help me so pawned me off onto her colleague. What was meant to be a relaxing stay with my partner ended up with feeling like a problem for the receptionist (I think she was called Julie). Only redeeming factor was the receptionist we’d been pushed over to “Erica will help you if you want to go over to her” Erica (I hope that’s right) was dealing with all sorts of issues at the desk anything Julie deemed too much work for her it seems. Poor girl needs a break after all she went through.

Came here on a overnight bus trip only thing that was a nuisance was we was a group of three ,we was put in rooms at opposite ends of hotel,that said the rooms were lovely and well thought out and comfortable food -dinner & breakfast couldn't fault really enjoyed stay here
