"No one should feel alone” – Edgbaston care home invites community to Friendship Café

A care home in Edgbaston is inviting people build new friendships with their neighbours this autumn.

Care UK’s Metchley Manor, on Church Road, is opening its doors to residents of Edgbaston and surrounding areas for to its Friendship Café on Wednesday 4th November, from 11am-12pm, as part of their permanent community hub at the home.

 

On the first Wednesday of every month, from 11am-12pm, local people are encouraged to visit the home’s café and enjoy hot drinks and freshly baked treats in good company. The café is open to anyone who wishes to make new friends and chat with residents, team members and other community members in a relaxed environment.

 

Sian Bradley, Deputy Manager at Metchley Manor, said: “We always strive to have a positive impact on our community, and we believe that no one should feel alone.

 

“Building support systems is extremely important, and we are committed to helping local people understand the help and expertise available at our Friendship Café – a space where everyone is able to relax and enjoy themselves.

 

“We’re looking forward to welcoming local people and meeting some new faces while enjoying a chat over a cup of tea and slice of cake.”

 

Metchley Manor incorporates plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities, including a café, hair and beauty salon and tavern. Its expert team provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, while the building offers both assisted living and a reminiscence suite to facilitate individual requirements.
