Kim-Marie Newton, Home Manager at Metchley Manor, said: “Wecan’t wait for the local community to join us for our informative and interactive event.
“At Metchley Manor, we’re passionate about increasing awareness and reducing misconceptions around nutrition and hydration for people living with dementia. We understand how challenging it can be to support a loved one, which is why our talented head chef is on hand to share his knowledge and practical tips.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming some new faces and old friends for a chat over some delicious and nutritious food.”
The event has been designed to get local people talking about how to keep fit and healthy in older age. Care UK has also created an online advice hub, which takes a closer look at how appetites and tastes change with age and features expert advice from nutritionists as well as delicious and quick recipes to try.
Metchley Manor incorporates plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities, including acafé, hair and beauty salon and tavern. Its expert team provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care, while the building offers both assisted living and a reminiscence suite to facilitate individualrequirements.
