King's Heath Walk Of Fame present top tribute band Fleetwood Mad performing all of Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits to commemorate the late Christine McVie's Ritz Ballroom appearances and her musical legacy
ON SATURDAY 8 N0VEMBER our special show featuring Fleetwood Mad will help us honour the musical legacy of the late Christine Perfect/McVie who was invited to join Fleetwood Mac in 1970 after marrying John McVie the previous year. Brought up in Bearwood, she attended Moseley School of Art where she met Stan Webb and Andy Sylvester and formed Sounds of Blue. On 16 October 1964 they performed at King's Heath's old Ritz Ballroom and shared the bill with the King Bees featuring Carl Palmer who later became one third of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. After the break up of Sounds Of Blue she joined Stan Webb in Chicken Shack who had a hit with "I'd Rather Go Blind" featuring Christine on vocals. After leaving Chicken Shack, she joined Fleetwood Mac and wrote or co-wrote "Say You Love Me", "Don't Stop" "Everywhere" and "Little Lies" She died of a stroke in hospital on 30 November 2022 but her musical legacy lives on.
