The Cleveland Pools – Bath’s Georgian Lido needs your help!
1st October 2013

We were invited to an open day at the Bath Lido (Cleveland Pools) recently. And yes, the British weather was doing it’s part; it literally was pouring down.  Umbrella’s up, wellies and raincoats on we set off to see the famous Bath Lido.

Tucked away, and only accessible through a pedestrian lane from Hampton Row in Bathwick (post-code BA2 6QS) we were greeted by, despite the weather, several smiley volunteers telling us all about the history and the future of Cleveland Pools.

It was also just heart-warming to see some Bathonians catch up with their swimming instructor from so many years ago who taught them (when they were children) to swim at the Bath Lido!!!

Sadly the Bath Cleveland Pools closed in 1984. The Cleveland Pools Trust is now doing it’s utmost to restore the beloved Bath Lido to it’s former glory and make outside swimming possible again in our very own city.  Wishing The Cleveland Pools Trust and the team of volunteers all the best.

The Cleveland Pools is inviting people to join their enthusiastic team of volunteers, and are also looking for donations. Please email sally.kent@me.com  if you are interested.
