👉Queer Diary FAQs:
🌈WHO can take part?
Any adults, anywhere on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum are welcome to share something from your youth on the mic at Queer Diary!
You don’t have to be a performer – many readers have never done anything like this before.
🌈WHAT can I share?
➡ QUEER? = LGBTQIA+ people on stage. Your material doesn’t have to be ‘queer themed’ – lots of us didn’t know we were back then. We’ve had people read about favourite TV shows, a school trip, even a ghost story!
➡ TEENAGE? = Anything from your coming-of-age era (usually teens, but can be younger/older – whatever “coming-of-age” means to you!)
➡ ️DIARIES? Yes, but not only diaries! We also welcome poetry, fanfiction or short stories, homework, old online posts, letters, messages – whatever you wrote back then 👀
🌈WHY would I do it?
It’s fun! Queer Diary is a friendly, supportive, joyful bonding experience.
Host @bethwhatcanido has been reading teenage diaries on stage since 2018, and created this event for LGBTQIA+ people to feel safe sharing our memories in a community space.
🌈HOW does it work?
Sign up using our short form, or email the @hasbianshow team.
Beth or Josie will get in touch to chat about the night, and reserve you a spot on the mic.
🌈Can I just join the audience?
YES! Queer Diary needs an audience!
