My first visit to the Coronation Hall. A splendid venue, nicely renovated. Seating on the flat in the stalls and seating not overly comfortable but adequate. The queue to enter needs serious review. Everyone had tickets to the event on 18.10.2019, just one door open and congestion once inside. Poor. Not enough staff ? The queue outside snaked right round the corner. If that normal, then its poor. My initial reaction was they must be searching handbags and coats, but upon entering, they didn't. I will return for another performance of something else but the staffing and admission of getting the audience in needs serious review. Clean toilets, clean bar and pleasant enough staff that could be seen. What I saw I thought was poor value for £24 as the show lasted just 1 hr 30 mins. It was too short.

Piping in and Piping Hot
The celebration of the Haggis was a total success.
A packed Restaurant was served a real treat by a very competent and lovely staff.
Gluten free and special dishes were available at this charming and hospitable .
Kerry Willison Parry moved the Ode to the Haggis in a wonderful and human manner (with several swirls of the Dagger) after the Mans a man for all that spirit.
Many a "cutty sark" in evidence thank goodness!.
Food as presented to our group of 9 was eaten with glee and well commented upon. Portion size excellent. Lots of spicy haggis and the most wonderful Clanachan trifle to finish.
Good value , good company GOOD Times.
You can eat most days from their welcoming and satisfying menu.
Look them up for a visit to The Festival Town! Free Parking.

December 2020, and sadly, due to Coronovirus the cafe is closed. There is parking here by donation and the park and hill remain open. Much loved by dog walkers, families and walkers, the climb up the hill may be breezy, but rewards you with spectacular 360 degree views. Please give a donation for parking and support to the cafe when it reopens. This place is a much loved gem and we need to ensure it remains well maintained
