new environmental project by the Wyre Forest has led to a new green energy Franchise in the local area
The tender submitted by Midlands Wood Fuel was successful meaning a new 100 square metre woodfuel store can now be utilised. Located on the Button Oak Rd near Kinlet, the new centre will house woodchip and other harvested fuel from the forest sourced in a sustainable manner.
The woodchip and other fuel will be supplied to local woodfuel boilers (within a 25 mile radius) for economic and environmental reasons. This project, built by The Grow With Wyre Landscape Partnership scheme is part of the wider picture of a lower carbon community.
The partnership is also installing at least six new woodfuel boilers within the Wyre Forest area, with two already created and the others in the pipe line.
