Recently enjoyed a 5 night stay at this hotel. Food was exceptional & reasonably priced for a 4 star hotel. All Staff - from cleaners to management were all very helpful and welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel - only downside is that it is at the top of a hill - but good location as only 10 mins or so from town centre.
Would definitely return.

Stayed for a week. The only reason for not giving 5* is that the hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the town Centre up a steep hill.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful; the room was very good, everything worked and it was quiet.

We met as a family for a wedding anniversary meal. The staff were very pleasant, attentive and helpful, and due to the occasion a couple of bottles of wine were complimentary. The food was of a very good standard, and very nicely presented.
However we are convinced that one of the sweets that we had were not as described on the menu, despite the staff not being convinced
Overall a pleasant night out.

We sat down on their terrace the day of our check-in and service was incredibly slow and cocktails were poor.
However from that moment on the personnel has been splendid. Going the extra mile to get us to the harbor in time and always very friendly. The food is quite alright, but would suggest to go into town and for instance try Le petit bistro in the city center. Rooms were definitely not styled to my liking, but very clean and spacious enough for two. After all we had a good stay, mainly because of the (young) staff!

We have just stayed four nights at the Duke of Richmond. We had two rooms, one a double and the other a suite which my daughter used. The hotel was excellent. Incredibly clean. Excellent décor. Great facilities. Above all the staff of each and every Department are the most efficient and courteous in my experience. This includes Reception, Concierge, Cleaning, management.....everything. Norbert the General Manager is approachable, friendly and courteous.

We had breakfast each day. The best breakfast ever. So much choice. I had full English, kippers

Recent 7 night half board stay - fabulous hotel in every way. Great leafy location with short 10 min walk to town centre. (Is on steep hill but taxi available via reception in needed). Gorgeous sunny view of harbour and Candie Gardens from our very clean and comfortable room. Wonderful friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to deliver excellent customer services. Most meals very good, apart from a couple of meals where (beef) meat a little tough for our taste. Enjoyed lovely breakfasts - and on some days on the pretty terrace outside. Pool and terrace garden very well maintained, and these could also be seen from our lovely room. Quiet at night, and great sleep as room air conditioned. Pretty fresh red carnation in bathroom. Cannot wait to return to this lovely hotel, and long to have Bea Tollmans lovely chicken noodle soup again as so delicious. Thank you for our lovely stay it made for a perfect holiday.

I only stayed one night in the penthouse suite and was so impressed it was exactly what you would expect from a 5 star hotel , if you need to feel a bit special I can recommend a night in the penthouse . Breakfast was to the same standard if only all hotels were this good

Rated 4 star , bordering on 5 star. On top of hill, with leafy park outside ( limited views). Excellent breakfast spread. Outdoor restaurant balcony beautiful. Avoid room 110 - with kitchen exhaust outside windo. Room 102 had view, but 3 steps to bathroom and exposed to balcony. Staff happily changed our room on request.

I often stay at the Duke of Richmond which is an excellent hotel on one of the Worlds most beautiful little Islands. The staff are all friendly including the excellent Maitre d Olga who is probably the best Maitre d i have ever had the privilege to be served by.
The food, rooms and service are hard to beat.. I will be back in September on business.

Great Staff, very friendly and helpful. Excellent food, full English breakfast could have fed 3 people. Liked the pool, and outdoor tables and seating. Nice little touches, jars of sweets, daily papers available to read.Biscuits in room, replenished every day. Couple of niggles about the room. Quite small. When we opened the wardrobe, it would bang into the front door. The shower pressure was so high, that you couldn't have a shower without wetting the toilet and the floor. All in all we would probably stay there again.

Everything at the hotel was excellent - from the call before arrival over the service of everything to the wonderful breakfast. High quality in every detail. Highly recomended. Just a nice walk from the Port.

Very special interior. It's a matter of your taste. Especially the atmosphere in the restaurant was not to my taste. Breakfast buffet small & unorganised, staff acting rather unorganised, quality of food medium.
Took the staff 2 days to make run the TV in our room. All in all too expensive.

A very nice clean hotel , parking is a little on the sparse side but the hotel give you a clock card which you can use all over the island for parking.

The bathroom had an unusual blue light which you could not turn off (weird) , but that aside the room was cleaned every day with towels replaced if you put your dirty ones in the bath.

The bed was comfortable but please do something with those pillows, 2 pillows and as soon as you put your head on them they went flatter than pancakes , not a very good night's sleep.

On our first night bottles of complimentary water were left but we had no more for our remaining 3 nights .

The breakfast was very good , there is a good choice of things to have , from the cold buffet to the full English.

The staff were all very pleasant and professional.

I would definitely stay here again if i return to Guernsey.

Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so pleasurable.

I would have given 5 stars but for those pillows.

My Mom And Dad about five weeks ago booked a four day break to The Duke Of Richmond hotel,

They stayed for four nights from the 13th of July I have just picked them up from the airport and both are beaming with the love of the great break that just have both in their seventies (recycled Teenages lol)

Had a smashing time could not praise the team who work and manage this place enough they spoilt my parents rotten as on Saturday it was my dads 71st Birthday then the Sunday was their 51st wedding anniversary may I say thank you myself,

Knowing my dad has Alzheimer’s and struggles the team was perfect and to hear him say that means a lot I think your part of the world is a fantastic escape for people to treat them self to
A bit of time back,

Sharon at TU travel was perfect in her suggestion of the best of British Chanel island

Kind regards
Christopher Wright .

Spent 4 nights here & it was a great experience. Basic rooms are a tad on the small size but are immaculate with all facilities including air conditioning & flannels! TVs are maybe a little poor in size & quality. The breakfast is superb & one of the best I have come across in recent years - fantastic fresh orange juice, varied cooked items of quality & good service. Thought ground coffee was somewhat bland.
Evening food (two nights) was perhaps not quite as good as the breakfasts & was not exactly cheap. But certainly is a good option as restaurants in St Peter Port are not cheap anyway. The staff were very helpful & one incident of friendly & caring management took me by surprise. Norbert Stump immediately popped to the local newsagents to get a new Daily Mail when the hotel one had gone ‘missing’. It was then especially reserved for me to read first. What service & it is the little things that make a hotel memorable. If you intend staying 4 nights I recommend booking through the hotel website in order to obtain the best possible deal.

A very good standard hotel that has been refurbished in many parts. We had a short weekend break and were very impressed. In my view the décor was a bit ostentatious but my wife liked it. Bedroom was a bit small and made worse by the amount of literature ,magazines and information left. Service is excellent with plenty of staff. Pool is the warmest I have ever been in and the area is a sun trap. Lovely experience. Breakfast one of the best I have ever had. Only bad comment is one morning bacon underdone.

This was a significant anniversary for us and so I spent a great deal of time looking for a hotel on the island that we spent our first on, more years than I would like to remember....
We had a phone call from the hotel a day or so before we arrived to check that everything was ok and if we needed transport from the airport, this focus on detail was followed through throughout our visit.
I cannot say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff were through the visit.
I spend most of my time in hotels around the world, last year I stayed at nearly 90, and this is one of the best. The breakfast is the best I have had.
The card and cake that arrived on our anniversary was just the topping on the cake (!)
Well worth that 5 stars, but the staff means I would like to add another

I was absolutely blown away by the reception I received from this hotel.

I went to my room and there was a lovely card welcoming me and a bottle of red wine.
Helen duty manager she was absolutely phenomenal she came and helped me with the Aircon as I was on able to set it nothing was too big or too small for her and she chatted to me like she knew me three years.

I went to the restaurant to have my evening meal and I was greeted by an amazing lady called Sarah Linton she was so professional so warming & welcoming and her team worked amazingly well this is a place that I will keep close and will remember to visit again. This hotel gets my top rating it is absolutely superb.

The turndown service is absolutely great I came back to find lovely chocolate’s on my bed waiting for me and everything that I’d used was replenished thank you for your kindness. 👍👍👍

This hotel is in a great position near Victoria Park, Museum of Guernsey and the German Naval transmission base It’s a good steep walk from the Port, but taxis are pretty frequent. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bed very comfortable. I would have liked a flexible hose shower in the bathroom. The hand hold on the wall was loose and I mentioned it, so it was fixed quickly. I also had to ask for hand soap as gel doesn’t really cut it for me.
Breakfast provided a good range of foods to suit most tastes. The cooked breakfasts I had were lovely. Some excellent smoothies and healthy options. I took advantage of their swimming pool which was open until 8pm. I didn’t particularly like the zebra skin chairs in the room by reception as I disagree with trophy hunting. I did like the suit of armour by the lift. The views from the terrace were lovely and you could see down to St Peters Port. The hotel has a good variety of events during the year, and we were able to watch a bit of Wimbledon Tennis on the terrace. I would stay here again

I booked The Duke of Richmond on the back of previous Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Situated high above St Peter Port it was a tranquil haven and ideal base for our island adventures. A quirky, opulent, well appointed hotel with a leopard theme and extensive mix of sculptures & art work which added a surreal feel. Staff friendly and the Birthday cards and sweet treats a nice touch. Breakfasts were delicious (see pictures) and there were Gluten Free options on request. The hotel does a courtesy call prior to your stay and arranged taxi transfers for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break and would highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel at the top of a very steep climb from the harbour. Unless you are an active walker you will struggle via foot so use a taxi about £6 !! Very good staff and clean recently decorated rooms . We paid extra for a seaview but binoculars were required as hotel at least a mile in land ! Superb breakfasts with an extensive range . The fine dining in evening ranged from excellent to poor . Do not order the burger as its reconstituted meat and inedible most strange as they served some amazing dishes ! No more expensive than most harbour eateries but only 7/10 rating ! One of the premier hotels in guernsey .
