May stay at the mercure hotel was a decent experience, rooms were standard and breakfast was great. Lydia in particular was very attentive and approachable when arriving for breakfast.👍🏽

Zoe on reception and Irene on the bar were amazing and so attentive. Couldn’t do enough for us. Booked a day room and spa visit, very pleased

Good location. Rooms are clean. All the staff, including Julie from conferencing were very friendly. The gym did need a good clean and was dirty even at 7am at opening time and there were lots of used wipes on the floor.

Excellent venue for my 3 day course. Good buffet and refreshments for myself and the delegates. Special mention to Julie and Katie who really looked after us all.

We visited for a business event organised by Zoe and Tracie.
We were impressed by the flexible packages offered for weddings and funerals including bespoke options. As a Celebrant, I would feel confident working with this venue. Took a light lunch in the reception bar and Irene could not do enough for us. From the moment we walked into the bar until she presented us with the bill her attention to detail wad first class. A totally committed employee hard to find in today's environment !

I've actually never had a better Hotel experience than this before and yes........I have stayed in other hotels, lots of them.
Everything was clean and well presented as you'd expect but what made this experience so much better than any other Hotel I have stayed at was the Hospitality from Jimmy and his staff. Jimmy made sure we had everything we ever needed and went above and beyond to help us at all hours of the day.
I'd like to thank Jimmy for his Hospitality and also give thanks to Irene, Lydia, James, Kim and all the other staff that helped to make our stay such an enjoyable experience, including the unsung heroes of the cleaning, catering and reception staff. It is a testiment to Jimmy of how well this Hotel is run, like a well oiled machine.

We travelled for the races.
The main areas of the hotel were very pleasant. The bedroom was tired, especially the toilet. A refurbishment would not go amiss.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. If you don't have a car, you're stuck.
On the plus side, the staff were very helpful and pleasant, even in the face of some difficult customers.
The food was adequate. I can say nothing more about it!

What I appreciate - The bar staff! In particular Katie and James are very friendly and attentive. They make it a great experience for the customer.
Even better if - The menu always seems limited. It would be great if ALL the items listed were available.

Amazing Staff!!! Zoe, and Bruna from reception are a credit. All staff are very welcoming and efficient. They go above and beyond for their guests! I am always more than pleased when visiting this hotel 😁

I stayed here on the 1st April - as an away supporter for the Reading Bolton match..
Great hotel but what made my visit was the superb service and attentiveness from one individual- a lovely lady who was working the bar area early on in the morning.
Sorry didn’t catch her name but please go back and check the Rota…she is to be commended fully - absolute gem.

The hotel is pleasant, the staff are very good. The bedrooms are very nice, larger than expected and comfortable especially at this price point. The bistro menus has improved greatly since the new menu was introduced in the Autumn.

Went down for what was advertised as a mind, body spirit fair, was actually a small craft fair with added tarot card reader.
The place seemed ok for a hotel that's probably conference based. The receptionist was very nice and helpful, and they had nice old deep basins in the toilets. The gents anyway, don't know about the ladies

Didnt previously know until recently that they did aftenoon tea. We booked and was very happy with the food and drink we received not only in quality but also plenty for two people. The staff were great, welcoming and friendly thanks to Nadine and Katy. Would recommend trying the afternoon tea at the Mercure.

it’s always a joy to see the staff all friendly and full of smiles, I would like to say that the lady manager Zowie came over as I was having difficulty walking and asked me if I needed any help and I was very appreciative. She saw me in the main bar and went out of her way to check on me and asked how was my food. What a lovely person she is. Food was nice and staff are great
