I recently attended Portner Pittack Dental Practice for a new patient examination with Jonathan Portner.

I was delighted with my experience after receiving a one hour of committed time and dedication for my dental needs.

In this one hour appointment Jonathan took the whole of my dental history, checked my soft tissues for mouth cancer (I was advised this would be done every 6 months as mouth cancer is on the increase) I found that alone very efficient, I am unaware of any previous dentists checking me for this before.

I was happy that my first initial appointment was not rushed and really appreciated Jonathan's concerns for dental hygiene, he was also interested in my social aspects and made time to chat about unrelated dentistry.

I have very good oral hygiene and due to this Jonathan has recommended I see him and the hygienist every 6 months to maintain this, which I intend to do so.

On retirement I found my dental health had deteriorated badly. I was recommended to Jonathan Portner at Portner Pittack Dental Practice at Mill Hill. On my first appointment I was put fully at ease and during the next two years experienced an extensive range of treatments including dental hygiene, extractions, implants, fillings, root fillings, crowns and teeth whitening. Without exception at each stage I was treated with the utmost care and consideration and the various options carefully explained.
My wife who accompanied me herself needed extensive treatments and throughout was impressed with the level of care given, professionalism shown and the results achieved. Recommended by both without reservation!

I and my family have used the Portner-Pittack practice for many years and I would highly recommend them.
They cover all our needs in hygiene and remedial care,particularly in the area of reconstruction,having had an implant and realignment of my bite.This proved so successful that I only require six monthly check-ups.

I used to think that my NHS dentist was OK and a private dentist was a waste of money.Not any more ! My NHS dentist retired and I moved on recommendation to Jonathan Portner and have been going to him for two years now.The condition of my teeth is transformed - my old fillings have been replaced, my teeth and gums are healthy and my teeth look great.A discoloured cantilever bridge which kept falling out has been replaced with a natural looking, firmly-fitting replacement and the supporting tooth which cracked in half,has been saved and repaired.He is by far the best dentist that I have ever been to and I would highly recommend him. For many years I had bleeding gums - untreated by my dentist - it got so bad that every teeth-brushing became quite gory. It spread to eating basic foods - from apples to a simple sandwich - all of which made my gums bleed. This made eating quite an embarrassing exercise in company - and, although I couldn't smell it myself, made my breath stink.

I then met Jonathan Portner who told me in no uncertain terms that if I carried on ignoring it I would lose all my teeth sooner rather than later.

I went to see him - enrolled on a course of 4 or 5 sessions - not cheap - but I have to say, in all honesty - totally effective.

He has rejuvenated my teeth and gums, brought them back to health, given me back my confidence to eat and smile (and breathe!) in company - and all performed with a thoroughness and careful attention to detail that is a credit to him and his practice.

Thoroughly recommended.

Following a number of years of bleeding gums and general concern over the health of my teeth I decided to have a full examination by Jonathan Portner. His initial examination and report was the most thorough I have ever known. I was put on a series of sessions with the hygenist (who is equally thorough and sympathetic) and after only the first session I noticed a marked improvement. I am very impressed with the treatment, care and attention I have received.

I must be one of Jonathanʼs longest serving patients, having been in his care since the early 70ʼs, soon after he qualified. I am idle about teeth care, and Iʼm told I have a fearsome bite, so itʼs a tribute to his skill and determination that at almost 58 my smile reveals a functioning and presentable set, which remain in my mouth overnight. Jonathan has done lots of work on me over the years, and I have never doubted his professional abilities. Not only have I never dreaded going to the dentist, I actually quite enjoy going to the bright, modern practice which has expanded greatly over the years.

My teeth were yellow and I wanted to whiten them. I broke two front teeth as a child and they had been repaired 3 times but were too bulky, short and the wrong colour. I asked Jonathan to correct the problem as I did not smile fully. I was nervous and worried about injections but he was great, no pain at all. He whitened my teeth and placed porcelain veneers to match the new colour. I am very pleased with the result, they look so natural, I now smile with confidence and my friends comment on how good my teeth look.
