Support your local retailers on Independents Day - 4th July 2011

Bookmark and Share

The 4th July is a special day across the pond but this year it's extra special here too as local retailers up and down the country will be out in force on Independents Day

Organised by Skillsmart Retail and the National Skills Academy for Retail, the day is our chance to celebrate and support
our local neighbourhood traders.

What can I do?

Simple, head for your local independent shops and buy at least one item and celebrate diversity on the high street.

They'll be coverage in national, local and trade press and trade associations such as the NFRN and Association of Town Centre Management are also lending their support to make sure the campaign is a success.

The day is also a celebration of the skills great independent retailers have. Our local shopkeepers are not only a vital service, but they wear many hats; they are the accountant, sales assistant, buyer and often everything in-between.

Where can I find out more?

Head for the Independents Day website for all the information, to download the poster and put the banner on your website and support it on Facebook.
