Learning to Drive in Kidderminster?

Calls are being made for a rethink over plans to close Kidderminster’s driving test centre.

The site, in Castle Road, has been handed a reprieve for six months by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), which claims it does not come up to modern standards

Do you think the centre should stay, or do you want to travel all the way to Worcester?

Anniversary of a local racing legend.

Sunday marked the 50th anniversary of the death of a grand prix-winning driver from Kidderminster.

Peter Collins was killed in a racing accident at the age of 26, just as his career was reaching its peak.

In the German Grand Prix, pushing hard to keep pace, Collins lost control of his Ferrari and spun off the track, disappearing over a bank.

Born in Kidderminster in 1931, he lived with his parents at Shatterford Grange and went to school in Wolverley and Bromsgrove.

During his career, he raced for top teams, including Aston Martin, HW Motors, Vanwall, Mercedes-Benz and, most famously of all, Ferrari.

Anyone have an opinion about the new bridge at the Kidderminster railway station.

A bit like the yellow brick road?

I read in the news today that developers want to create a high-tech business park which could bring hundreds of jobs to Worcestershire.

Developer Cill Dara has outlined its plan for the old British Sugar Factory site in Stourport Road, Kidderminster.

The firm said it wants to turn the 60 hectares plot into a "strategic employment site" which could attract up to 700 jobs, mainly in the IT sector. It's great that something commercially beneficial to the area is being planned.

I read in the news this week that yobs have destroyed floral displays in Kidderminster town centre for the second time in three weeks.

Just what is wrong with the youth of today? (I'm not old by any means). Is life so dull and meaningless that this type of behavious is seen as fun? In my opinion, whoever is responsible should pay for the damage out of their own pocket.
