Toddler rescued from the river in Bewdley.

The girl, about two years old, was rescued by a man who suffered a suspected broken ankle in the incident last week.

He leapt to her aid when he saw her fall near the bridge across the river at Severn Side North, in Bewdley.

An ambulance spokesman said the man undoubtedly saved the girl from serious or even fatal injuries.

The man, thought to have been in the Cock and Magpie pub when he saw the girl fall in, was also taken to hospital.

I think we all owe that man a pint when he recovers!

There are plans to knock down Bewdley fire station and rebuild it as part of huge redevelopment plans to create a new medical centre, it has been revealed.

Multi-million pound proposals to breathe new life into Bewdley with new homes and shops have been unveiled.

Bosses at Bewdley Medical Centre want to expand their centre to bring it up to modern-day standards. The building is to be raised on stilts because of the flood plain, say officials.

Went to Bewdley to see some clients today. Noticed that there are a load of travellers camped in the picnic area along the Bewdley bypass. The place already looks a mess, with one of the caravans stripped bare for some strange reason?! Bewdley is a particularly picturesque town usually, this does nothing to improve the vista, that's for sure!
