The North West London Eruv allows Orthodox Jews within its perimeter to use pushchairs and wheelchairs for travelling around during Shabbat, tasks that would normally be prohibited.
The Eruv covers areas including Golders Green and Hendon.
"Over the past three years, the Eruv has transformed the lives of the thousands of people who benefit from it," said Peter Sheldon, a former president of United Synagogue and current chairman of the North West London Eruv Committee. "It is a particular joy to see the huge number of young mothers, and elderly and handicapped people who are now able to attend shul."
The special service will take place at Golders Green synagogue which will also see an appeal to the community to continue with its support for the upkeep of the Eruv.
“We need the community’s support to ensure the Eruv’s upkeep and I am confident that this special Shabbat will bring increased recognition of the vital communal facility that it provides," Sheldon added.
