Once you get past the grim exterior of this hotel the inside looks surprisingy stylish, with comfy circular seating areas and soft sofas.

This hotel was not built to be a Holiday Inn so the rooms are not as spacious as you normally get with this chain, but they are nicely decorated.

The staff were very friendly and the food excellent

There are not many parking spaces, but we had no problem getting a space - and there is a multi storey next door which I believe was £4 per night.

From booking to reception to what happened after to our leaving everything and everyone at the Holiday Inn should be complimented. 6th Floor room with great views and very comfortable for a short stay. Restaurent service and food was of the very best. (The bar lunch on the Sunday was a tinge iffy but OK.) But what made it all very special was Lorraine!
Return to the Hopliday Inn? Most certainly!

Stayed here for a couple of weeks due to work, and was very surprised. I was expecting the same old chain hotel rubish, but that was not the case. I have to say that all of the staff were very friendly and helpful the rooms were excellent, and for a city centre hotel it was not as noisy as I was expecting. The meals from the restaurant were superb, as was the breakfasts, and the bar/lounge area is a great place to unwind. I would have no hesitation in staying here again

I recently stayed in the Preston Holiday Inn along with my wife for one night as we had come to see Sarah Millican at the Guild Hall.

This was our first stay in a Holiday Inn and we were most impressed. The decor of the room was very nice and we couldn't fault any part of our stay. The staff were also friendly and the breakfast was also very nice.

The location is also very handy being in easy walking distance of the main shopping area and also for us, the Guild Hall

Holiday Inn Preston was an awesome hotel for the 2 nights which I stayed here. The food was brilliant and the location was amazing. The rooms were very quiet and the service was very good. However, the rooms and toilets were a bit small. The rooms were nicely decorated and the view from the room was good. The beds were amazing and the variety of TV channels was good. If I come to Preston again, I will surely stay here.

Had a lovely stay here and wedding reception for family members. All well organised and food excellent. Staff couldn't do enough and service was first class. Breakfast was fabulous too and wheelchair accessible all over the site. Huge car park at rear so no shortage of parking at all. Were also entertaining Guide Dogs who were doing working/ training in a public area and I was impressed how the staff supported them.

Just a couple of points for the hotel to learn from - 1) make sure clients are properly charged for drinks (I noticed after that we had had drinks that were not paid for on billed to us (sorry)) and 2) there were a lot of new starters working that night and it was unfair to put them under that kind of pressure with such a huge entourage/ event - poor things were inexperienced with issues and overwhelmed when asked something. For their sake, I'd avoid doing that in future.

Hotel facilities, layout and decor etc. are OK for the price bracket. Staff are friendly and helpful. However, a few things let it down. On arrival in our room, we found three dead flies on a dirty windowsill. This was dealt with promptly, however this is basic housekeeping and cleanliness, and is inexcusable. The service in the restaurant is soooooo slow. Even with just four guests in it. In the morning, our shower would only run cold. Someone attended promptly again, but being unable to fix it, offered us bathrobes so we could use the shower in a room up the corridor. We’re tolerant people, so we can cope with a few dead flies and showering in another room. It’s not the end of the world. However, upon checkout, we were surprised that nothing had been deducted from the bill as a goodwill gesture. After all, they had fallen short in a couple of very basic areas, and I hope they would agree that it’s just not good enough. We could have asked for a discount, but as I’m sure hotel senior management and executives will agree, we shouldn’t have to. The fact is that these two items were overlooked, and it appears to have been assumed that the solutions offered were fully acceptable rather than just adequate. For a hotel chain of this standard, I expect better.

We regularly use this hotel and the staff are great. However out last stay was a little odd.

There were 2 dogs in the room next to us. Most days we couldn't hear them unless we were in the corridor. On our last day they were positively howling. We had to report them to reception. We know there was a man staying in the room with the dogs but their howling was concerning. It was either speak to reception or call the RSPCA.

Our first night using the pool was also odd. A young local child was using the swimming pool to sail his remote controlled boat. He complained to me that my children splashing would damage his boat. I politely laughed and pointed out that it was a swimming pool and perhaps he should move to the other side of the pool. He put the boat to one side and joined my children in the pool. There was no adult with this child. He was approx 8/9 years of age. I wasn't too happy as it is an unlifeguarded pool. Later an older man entered the pool and spoke with the child about the boat the boy explained what I had said. I then had the most filthiest of looks.
Surely children, local or guests, should not be unsupervised in a pool. Nor should we be made to feel responsible for them.

There was also a real problem with the key cards. Everyday we had to go to reception to get them to work. Other rooms were experiencing the same problem.

The staff were excellent as always. Especially the breakfast staff. Thanks must also go to the kitchen for a perfect breakfast.

we went on a mystery bus weekend trip. we ended up staying the night here. we had not heard of this hotel group before and were duly impressed with all the hotel had to offer. it was spacious clean warm and had very welcoming staff. the food was excellent with a choice of meal. starters and puddings were served at the table and the rest self service. a great place to stay and if you wish a short walk, turn left and you will find a great pub that sells great alcohol free beer if wanted.lynn and tony parish
