Again recommended and we had visited many years ago. What a special place. Not your average fish and chip restaurant because there was a pianist and the staff were so friendly amidst the beautiful decor. Food was served efficiently and very tasty. Very much go again

We were in town to go to the cinema so decided to skip eating at home and headed for the Olympus. It was quieter than normal but the food and service was as good as ever. Keep it up.

Fantastic as always. You cannot go wrong no matter what you order. The service is impeccable. The most polite staff around . I truly recommend no matter your age or budget.

Wonderful! lovely friendly staff and quick service. The Pianist makes it a real treat. The meal was great and had just enough room for Ice Cream from the huge selection.

On visiting you waited at the desk to be shown a table or in theory it was. The gentleman in a white shirt was running up and down like an headless chicken. I am sure he has been doing the same job for many years Infact he’s probably the owner but the saying “ a busy fool” comes to mind. Waiting to be seated must have been a line of at least 12/15 people. The only person seemed to be allowed to seat guests was this man. He kept looking at the queue he would then empty a table go fetch a cloth go to the till go fetch someone’s order go fetch a brush and pan absolutly anything bar seat some guests. There were ample empty clean tables vacant but he kept looking at the line of waiting people and smiling. We waited for at least 20 minutes. This man has either got to catch up with the times get extra staff or go to Specsave so he’s able to see empty tables.
We enjoyed the food, pricey and small portions but otherwise enjoyable.
Do yourself a favour instead of paying a pianist employ extra staff.

Went on Saturday 26 April as part of a coach trip with Kings Norton Coaches from Birmingham. The fish and chips were the best ever, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere great. Will definitely go again and try the ice cream next time.

I visit here a couple of times a month as I’m often passing through Bolton. I usually order the Plaice special, which is always excellent. Chips and peas are always fantastic. The service and the restaurant itself is on another level, real old school attentive service. Always a fantastic experience.

We've managed to avoid coming back to Olympus since I last put a review on TripAdvisor in November 2022.
Having reread the review from then it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility just to 'cut and paste' the same words here, because (apart from noticing a stain on the carpet during the last visit), absolutely nothing has changed.
Hardly anyone was dining in the restaurant, small fish, food not piping hot and vastly overpriced for what we got. Sad looking supermarket sliced bread with the merest slither of what was described as "butter".
In two and a half years, I thought that they might have bucked their ideas up, so to speak, but it appears not. During that time we've eaten plenty of portions elsewhere, including one of the top places in Whitby, and Olympus is one of the poorest experiences of them all, I'm afraid.

Sooooo expensive. Had small chip portion - still cost nearly a fiver. Canned drinks 2.45 whaat!!! Had lager instead . I get annoyed by soft drinks being marked up so much. Tea equals one teabag but lots of hot water and fussy little jugs. At the end of the day, you’re paying 3-45 for a teabag - luckily my wife always has spares. Toasted teacake - one miniature pat of butter - er…don’t think so. To do her credit the girl brought an extra two pats. If the manager found out she’d be for it. This place hates to be generous with portions. Profit is king.
That said, IMO, the chips are the best in Lancashire, and people who say otherwise need their tastebuds looking at. The surroundings are fabulous, everywhere is clean and luxurious.
But the prices go against the grain for a tight Northerner like me. I’m certainly not forking out for a whole meal there - I’m not the Duke of Westminster.

A group of 58 people had the best experience of fantastic quality and very professional service we had fish chips mushy pea bread and butter tea & coffee with cream, served by a wonderful professional family and staff even though there was 58 persons every meal was hot out at the same time and tasted excellent very good quality, we had music some ladies had a dance, then our afternoon continued with home baked scone with butter jam & proper whipped cream it was a magical day a exceptional time Thank you to the staff and wonderful professional family even Mum helped , everywhere was spotless toilets very clean and all was easy accessible.
