This is a great PLAICE for lunch dinne or tea or breakfast now. The food comes from the chip shop part of the restaurant which is technically next door. You go in and are greeted at the door and then offered a table. You chose your meal, go and pay and then sit down and await it's arrival which will only be minutes, if that. There is a nice atmosphere and the owner is always wandering around speaking to everyone.
If we are going to a show in Manchester, usually by train, we will pop in and eat before going. Plenty of sizes of portions from pensioners to the large. All great value.

For those people who need to dip into their childhood and taste those Friday nights queueing for the cod and chips....Olympus is a much better option. No waiting. Amazing service and food and such great value plus table and no newspaper wrapping.
You haven't lived till you have experienced fish and chips with mushy peas and tea and buttered bread from Bolton's best fish and chip restaurant.. Great job.

After a rare shopping trip with both my son and my husband, the sight of a fish and chip restaurant where we could sit in to eat was a welcome sight. The olympus is really big inside and was very busy for a Friday lunchtime. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and shown to a table . Menus arrived 2 minutes later and there was a good selection to choose from. Me and my husband picked the "just enough" option which was cod, chips , tea , bread and butter. We ordered peas as extra...compulsory when having fish and chips. My 12 year old son had jumbo sausage, chips , curry and chocolate milk shake. When they brought the food out ( very quickly) it was obviously all freshly cooked but on first reaction I thought my meal was small. It wasn't, it was as the menu stated " just enough" . I was full and I like my food! Any more would have been too much. The chips were hot and fluffy inside , the batter was light and crispy and the fish was just delicious. I watched the staff and the whole place is based round good old fashioned manners .opening the door as people were leaving, helping a lady on with her coat...why can't everywhere be like this? To sum up..For the 3 of us it was £24 . The food was delicious, the service fantastic and I just wish every town had an Olympus. ...well worth a visit next time you are in Bolton.

This is a fish and chip restaurant with a difference. Standards and customer service are everything here. The staff are friendly and attentive and no one enters or leaves without acknowledgement.
The restaurant is huge and very tastefully decorated, it even has a grand piano which is used.
The restaurant has been established around 25 years that I am aware of and over the years has continued to expand.
The food is excellent and not confined to just fish and chips.
A large varied menu caters to every requirement and is very popular with coach parties and pensioners.
Fish and chips and peas with tea bread and butter is priced around the £7 mark.
I highly recommend it and have been going there regularly for around 25 years even though I live about 20 miles away.

You get what you pay for! This is by far the best Fish around. Fact. The 'Whopper Cod' is huge and requires a decent appetite. The surroundings are superb and staff attentive. My favourite Fish and Chip restaurant outside of Whitby.

Another favourite of ours.you would think you were in a West End night club from the decor.Even has a Grand piano which is played by a good professional on certain days.
There is a good range of different types of fish, you can have it grilled if you do not like batter and they also sell pies and other food if fish is not your favourite.
Prices are very reasonable and even pensioners specials which are good value, including tea or coffee and bread and butter.
The staff are friendly and courteous ,opening the door for you and even rush over to help you on with your coat. Can't be faulted and a must to visit whilst shopping in Bolton. Good old fashioned hospitality in top rate surrounding's.

Went to Olympus with a group who had been to Ocatagon. The food service and the attention by Mr Olympus was quite outstanding. We ate in the Orangery, a lovely dining room that was perfect for our party. We have been before and will return, it is the place to go for a lovely meal and top class service.

.........we were regular visitors for a long time but on a couple of visits the fish was raw in the middle .The meals were replaced without issue by very pleasant staff but it spoils the experience ,Consequently we have given it a miss since .

Perhaps it may be worth another try .

I thought to give it a try , the food is good , but, to include 'bread and butter and a cup of tea' ( brings to mind the seaside cafe) then ,overcharge for a handful of peas , a bit dissappointing , the place is very nice and clean the staff very pleasent , but ,a bit its overpowering when it comes to putting your coat on , it seems to be a bit of a scramble who gets to you first to help you , they seem to cater for the older generation who love the attention but its not for me thank you..
