We missed out on the total hotel relaxation we paid and hoped for terribly saddened I have hand written to the manager of the last drop explaining in great detail of course as to why we left the hotel early

Lovely suite with living area and separate bedroom. Nice comfy bed. Lovely hotel. Nice swimming pool and spa facilities. Steam rooms and saunas and a lovely outdoor heated pool area. Lots of kids in the pool though which was annoying.

Only downsides were there was no fridge in the room and also the heating was off the scale! Like being laid inside a volcano at night. Had all the windows open and turned the radiators off but made little difference.

Lovely hotel with excellent facilities and spa. Breakfast and dinner was gorgeous and the staff were fantastic. The pub on site was also great! Our cottage room needed a bit of updating & tlc and the toilet was noisy and continued to run. However, the bed was very comfortable. Overall a lovely couples stay!

We stayed here with friends for a two night break to celebrate New Year, and overall had a lovely time. The hotel occupies a large site, and has many different buildings - accommodation blocks, events/conference centre, pub and shops in the ‘village’ as well as the main hotel building. This makes for good variety and some nice walks.
We had a standard room in the courtyard block, which was small yet nicely appointed. We had to walk outside to get to the main building to use the facilities, and also had to walk outside to the Pennine Suite for the new year’s eve gala dinner. While this was not a problem for us, it was not pleasant in the inclement weather of new year’s eve.
We had one dinner and two breakfasts in the main dining room, and found the food and service to be great quality. Our gala night, in the Pennine suite, included a 5 course dinner, Prosecco reception, piper, haggis course, singer and disco, and was a lovely event to see in the new year.
We absolutely loved the spa, with its outdoor hydrotherapy pool, which was a unique and fun experience.
Overall, we would return, perhaps at a different time of year, to experience the grounds in summertime.

From the moment we arrived the team made is feel welcome. Dinner in the main restaurant was fantastic as were the team. There is a good selection for breakfast, if you can’t see what you want they will try to accommodate you. The full breakfast was great, really tasty.

Our room in the hotel was perfect - no problems.

Couldn’t fault the cleanliness throughout the hotel and spa.

The spa is a must, we had treatments which we felt were good value for the money. It can get busy in the spa but we had no problem using the facilities.

Parking is plentiful.

This was my 3rd time here and I’ll be back in March.

Booked through spa breaks for my nieces 18th birthday.
So two ladies aged 56 and 18 yrs old.
Check-in was smooth.
Stayed in room 5 outside in the courtyard. The bathroom and shower were just lovely, the room was spotless but not 5 stars as I think room although very very clean a little tired in places.
We had booked the thermal suite, so dressing gowns and slippers provided in the room.
I feel some water and glasses could be provided but not a deal breaker.
The thermal suite infinity pool was booked online to go at a particular time. On arrival to reception, the lady gave us towels and explained how it all worked she was just lovely.
The thermal infinity pool was just lovely, although busy felt enough room to accommodate everyone, as it went dark outside felt really special.
My only down comment would be, and perhaps staff need to address it was 2 young ladies entering the pool and taking the usual pouting photographs on mobile phones, fine but as is says all over no photographs feel staff should have delt with that I'm sure everyone would have liked to take a picture for memories but everyone else did as the rules asked!!! This, however, didn't spoil the experience.
The pool afterwards woke you up as chilly after the hot spa, but again, just lovely.
We booked dinner in the courtyard restaurant, and the food was beautiful, with no complaints.
Breakfast again, a buffet style was lovely, my niece is vegetarian so they cooked her some vegetarian sausages without hesitation.
I told the gentleman who was looking after service in the evening and morning how professional and polite all the staff were in his restaurant as were all the staff we met.
Thank you for your attentive smiley service it was a pleasure spending our weekend at the hotel, just a little updating in the rooms, or it would be 5 stars..
Sarah and macy.

Overall great experience, great food and friendly staff. However check in was at 2, we arrived at 2pm but we was told to wait in reception as our room was not ready. We was finally given the keys to room at 3pm and that’s only because I went and spoke with reception.

I had an excellent stay here while in Bolton for Business. The staff were so welcoming on arrival, the spa facilities were excellent and the room was great and clean. One quite niche thing I have to praise is how pleased I was to have a proper glass for juice at the breakfast buffet, not a shot glass! Excellent value for money.
