The Red Hall Hotel is a modern stone-clad low-built place of no architectural distinction in a pleasant country setting - over breakfast we were able to watch a sheepdog round up its flock in the field at the back of the hotel. A recent refurbishment has produced a place of limited character, but broadly speaking it works. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. Missing items - soap and a broken light bulb - were dealt with promptly by the helpful staff. The bedroom lighting was absurdly low-level, making it impossible to read after dark, while the bathroom lighting was dazzlingly (and unflatteringly) bright, Why? Breakfast was disappointing. Ordered items failed to arrive and what did arrive had clearly been cooked a long time before and left under a lamp to shrivel. Other than that, the £70 we paid seemed reasonable value. Not a place to stay at for long, but not bad for what it is.

Stayed here 1 night in mid-December and it could not be faulted. Great price, clean, good sized room and food was excellent. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

I used to stay in chain hotels as part of my job which entails weekly hotel stays each week. I tried the Red Hall the middle of last year and have been hooked ever since! The service is outstanding and the food is some of the best I have ever tasted. Only a small hotel but that is to its credit because they have retained the personal touch and nothing seems too much trouble. Can't recommend highly enough.

stayed here for a friends wedding at christmas ,what can i say ? the public area's were very hot ,& the room we stayed in was unbearably hot ,resulting in not much sleep ,you can open the window ,but i would not recommend it as the room back's on to the fields ,the food was ok ,the drinks prices were reasonable ,but watch your change as we were short changed twice by the same girl ,coincidence ?all we got was sorry ,,yeah right ,bet you were ,would we stay here again ,?no ,£75 per night ,there are cheaper alternatives ,the rooms are not very big ,and you might bump into the dressing table .

We've stayed here many times as we have family in the area. The rooms are well decorated and lovely and clean. If you are in a double room at the front of the hotel then you will have plenty of space for luggage etc, however if you are at the back of the hotel then it can be quite claustrophobic with not much room for things. Having said that we have stayed here on 4 different occasions and have only been in one of the smaller rooms once.

There are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms and the bathrooms are well appointed with soap etc. All in all we really like the hotel and it's always our first choice as it's a really lovely place. Other reviewers have said that the rooms are too hot, this can be true but you have control over the radiator in your room so turning it down solves this problem.

We got the cheap deal by booking online. To be honest I would have paid full amount! It was brilliant! The hotel is modern, very clean and stunning decor. The rooms were fantastic! All needs catered for. Flat screen tv, amazing bathroom qnd shower, Free wifi in the whole hotel. The building is warm and so ar the rooms but seriously all you need to do was turn your radiator down in the room. So no one should complain its too hot or cold! The nights sleep was fab! Very comfy bed. Our breakfast was amazing. So much choice of food. I will be staying here again and will recommend the hotel to all friends and family! A top hotel!

I live locally and decided to spend a night here just for a change - what a great hotel! We only paid £39 for a double room for the night which isn't expensive anyway. The room was very clean, decor very tasteful and the view of the fields from the window was beautiful. There was entertainment on, by way of a female singer who was very pleasant to listen to. We dined in the Legends restaurant Saturday evening, and for Sunday lunch. The food was absolutely fantastic! No complaints whatsoever, some of the nicest food we have ever eaten. Worthwhile staying for Sunday lunch as this allows you to stay in your room until 4pm. We will be returning without doubt, and would recommend this hotel above anywhere in the area.

We stayed here on a Groupon booking for one night on room only basis. This was our first trip away together minus children for about ten years so it was important that everything was right and we were not disappointed!
The room was beautifully decorated and furnished and was spotless. Fantastic wet room bathroom with awesome shower, fluffy towels-what more do you need?!
The staff were all friendly and helpful even though they were all rushed off their feet with a wedding party. We didn't eat in so I can't review the food although the couple sitting opposite us in the bar seemed very happy with theirs!
The local area is beautiful with stunning scenery and fantastic views. We had booked at the Fisherman's Retreat for dinner but because of the flooding couldn't get there. Our wonderful taxi driver (Elaine from Rammy's) drove us into town instead, recommended a restaurant as second best (Bellini's-it's ok-not the best Italian I've ever been to but service was fantastic and prices reasonable) and told us which bars to try and which to avoid. I recommend The Lounge bar-yummy cocktails, comfy sofas and great service. Ramsbottom locals are so friendly. We had a fantastic stay and would thoroughly recommend the hotel and the area.
