My wife and I stayed overnight and other than a few trivial niggles our overall impression was of a good, well-managed hotel with excellent staff. An added bonus is that there is a 7Kw EV charging point available to guests for free.
The restaurant was extremely busy due to a coach party on the evening of our stay and although the wait was a little longer than we would have liked it was well handled by the wait staff and the food was excellent.
We will definitely return should we need another Lancashire stay.

Recently stayed at the Mecure Dunkenhalgh for an overnight break, after having visited previously. Enjoyed the use of the thermal suite and pool and jacuzzi. We each had a 50 minute treatment included and chose the back, neck and scalp massage. This was a very relaxing treatment with focus massage on whichever area we needed, we both enjoyed it.
The food in the evening was delicious and we were very impressed with what was included as part of our package, (starter, main and dessert), we both devoured the steak. Breakfast was also good.

Our only criticisms would be, the bedroom was far too hot and we couldn't open all windows, as one had obviously been painted closed and the other disappointment was the lunch from the bar; there was no brown bread available and then we were presented with white sliced bread, would have expected a higher standard for the price paid.
However, we enjoyed our stay and was definitely value for money. Thank you

Just returned from a two night stay at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel with my wife. Great value and a wonderful old building full of history. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Couldn’t really fault it bearing in mind the rates. We will definitely be back.

Excellent place to be, family friendly, spacious rooms. We had a wonderful time. Gym and spa, nice breakfast and welcoming staff. Available parking but you have to pay. We were lucky to find it free during our stay.

Reall enjoyed our stay. Rooms were excellent clean spacious and comfortable. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and the food in the restaurant was fabulous. Real bargain won’t hesitate to stay again. The hotel was busy with a wedding, two coach parties as well as other visitors. However the service was seamless, the restaurant was well managed and our food was delivered without any delays. Breakfast was the best we’ve had in a hotel full stop and was freshly cooked, not standing around for ages congealing as it does in some hotels. Highly recommended if you want to visit the area.

Stayed overnight on 31st August. Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean. Good facilities, nice swimming pool. Friendly staff on reception, quick check in..Good price, and our room was upgraded. Used quick check out system when leaving,
Would definitely return if visiting this area.

A lovely relaxing stay in a well run hotel with a nice Spa facility. Evening meal was also very nice with a 3 course meal included with our stay. Special thanks to our waitress Olivia who provided great service with a delightful charm and youthful exuberance. All of the staff were, in fact, pleasant and chatty and ready to help if required. It is a hotel with plenty of character which can be a bit of a maze if your room is on the outer fringes but a nice relaxing stay never the less.

Just had a lovely couple of days at this lovely venue with my best friend.. the spa treatment (back, shoulder and neck massage and a facial) was absolutely amazing, the two ladies were lovely and I would definitely recommend this...
My only gripe was that the room next door was an office of which we could here the chap constantly talking...
Lauren on reception was so lovely and friendly a very pleasant greeting to the hotel..
Our room was lovely, clean and tidy and very comfortable..
The young man in the bar was so lovely and friendly and made us feel relaxed and comfortable.. (Chris I think)?
The staff team were just that, “A Team” they all seemed to be friendly and comfortable with each other.
I would definitely return.
Thankyou
Jo

We have stayed here several times over the last 20 years as really only viable option if visiting relatives in Accrington. At many levels it is a nice place and could be up there with the high scorers but the details let it down sadly . Staff are excellent but need more on reception at busy times . Mask wearing was so variable . Very concerned on the Monday we arrived. No masks at Reception or in bar and mostly no in restaurant in evening or breakfast next morning . Bad . Then clearly change of staff shift and Manager of restaurant who has been there for many years, and his now mainly female staff, all mask wearing and social distancing . Good. Sadly few guests wore despite some coughing and spluttering. Ugh
. Food - evening meal was good . Breakfast variable as much food had clearly been sitting there too long ( hard skin on fried eggs was horrid) Juice tasted cheap .
Our room was ok . Lots of space . Bed excellent. Had asked for a quiet room but only quiet after spa and bar guests left as people sat outside loudly late. Constant noise of motorway but actually as it was constant it could be ignored .
Our doors were not aligned so had to slam both entrance door and bathroom door to get them to shut 🤷‍♀️. Bathroom clearly not designed with females in mind. No shower cap . Nowhere to hang clothes. No second towel for washed hair etc etc. Women will recognise this. Or even long haired men . Would have preferred attention to smaller details to a fancy jacuzzi bath tbh . We were told we could only have complimentary water if we booked Executive. 😂😂. I have travelled widely Africa Asia Europe and never encountered water snobbery at this level ( ref attention to detail point )
. Check in and check out easy which is good though but although I gave Amex details and there is a £150 allowance pending from date of arrival , no credit facility was set up ( much to the horror and chagrin of our breakfast waiter as we had an Expresso coffee not knowing it was over £2 extra so had not brought down cash - attention to detail reference again ) and really , an extra charge 🤔🤭😿😂
Spa and swimming pool - first time I didn’t use as too crowded and no COVID awareness it seemed sadly by guests
This hotel needs to decide who it is aiming at . I understand it is difficult in current situation and a business needs to be profitable. But cheap economies cause a bad vibe. This hotel could be so so good with the right focus, staff well being and not trying to be all things
