This place is always busy mainly with pensioners who get an offer. It's a glorified chippy but expensive. Try Alice's on Churchgate the food is better, menu the same.

Very high standard. If Fish and Chips are your thing, then this is definitely worth a visit. The guy who owns/runs the place takes his business very seriously and that certainly shows. Food standard, service and menu variety all excellent!

I really enjoy going to the Olympus, the service is excellent always greater t the door and directed to a table. The food is good.I first went in for a pensioners special although I was not a pensioner at the time. The portion is just a little bit smaller but just as good. I have been a pensioner for a number of years now and still like the specials.

I would recommend anyone to go to this restaurant whatever age. You can still buy specials.

Being bolton born and bred i actually don't like to visit bolton town centre...the only reason we head that way is to visit this fantastic restaurant.
Being a non drinker i love a meal out, me and my husband eat out alot and enjoy trying new places....Olympus is amazing.
Good old fish and chips you can't beat it... pair that with being served by the most lovely of staff, who are pleasant, smile and really do want you to enjoy the overall experience.
For those who say it's over priced, It really isn't, it's cheaper for a take away or visit another bolton town platic chair cafe, but isn't that to be expected! the service, the atmosphere and the piano and other events they put on are well worth it...i'd pay extra every time to sit and enjoy a good brew (not cheap rubbish teabags) eat well and enjoy the orangery and pleasant surrounding all the while enjoying the A1 service.... best by far... well done to all of them who work there great food great service great atmosphere.

Myself and my partner ate here on a Friday night and were surprised when they had a piano player playing some fantastic music whilst we were tucking into our food.

This is a large and spacious establishment, with polite and friendly staff and a credit to Bolton.

I had the cod "Just Enough" special. The fish was coooked beautifully, chips were not greasy and I also ordered mushy peas which were tasty and didn't have a nasty bicarb flavour afterwards. My partner had the steak pudding "Just Enough" meal and he found his to be as equally tasty and great value for money.

I would 100% recommend this place to others. My parents used to run a fish and chip restaurant so I know quality when I taste it, and it makes it taste even better in such great surrounings.

We will be visiting again very soon!

Monday, 6pm, hungry. Discovered Olympus. Wow. Staff friendly, helpful & the teapot was on the table before I had finished ordering! The fish & chips were perfect. Crispy light batter & non greasy chips. I do not like mushy peas but these were lovely. Best fish & chips I've had & I've had some good ones. Visiting again asap to hear the pianist while I enjoy more f & c.

Have just come back from Cornwall where we ate fish and chips in some very well-known cafes. And, believe me, Nothing but NOTHING measures up to our Olympus in Bolton. Now I accept that fish and chips is a very subjective dish- what goes into the batter, degree to which the chips are browned etc etc. But even allowing for all this I honestly can't imagine Olympus being bettered anywhere in Britain for taste, service and generally civilised surroundings. A pensioners' special every Friday is one of the highlights of my week- this might seem sad but if you order a cod and chips with bread and tea at Olympus you'll understand what I mean. And as it's Friday lunchtime that's where we're off to now.....

This is a Fish & Chip restaurant with class. From first entering, where the door is opened for you, to leaving when your coat is held whilst you up it on; this is a pleasurable experience from start to finish. In the restaurant is a Grand Piano which is played whilst you eat the most succulent fried fish served to you in double quick time.
I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The owner runs a tight ship and the emphasis is on service and the customer. How it should be !
Highly recommended.
