Had taken my daughter's car for an MOT so had a couple of hours free and decided to reward ourselves with a nice lunch for two. Had heard good reports of Olympus and we weren't disappointed.

Welcomed on arrival and offered a choice of tables and explained what we needed to do to order our meal.

This was easily undertaken and soon two plates of hot and tasty fish, chips and peas arrived at our table together with a hot pot of tea and a big friendly smile from the Server.

All the staff seemed to be enjoying their work and all the other diners enjoying their meals. It was a nice touch that as we prepared to go, someone came across to assist my wife with her coat.

Great Fish and Chip (and other things) restaurant, not particularly cheap but good quality food. Really lovely staff and well worth a visit, but it does close at about 6.30 pm.

Been to Olympus a few times now, and not your standard chippy! It's hard to use terms "fine dining" and "fish and chips" together, but this is what springs to mind at Olympus. From the moment you arrive, the door is opened from you by the very attentive staff, you are shown to a table, asked if this suits your preference, you may be helped off with your coat/jacket before being shown the food and drinks menu... Customer service is top priority. Forget the radio blaring at some other establishments, Olympus often has a live pianist playing - and a grand piano at that. Although they have other menu items, the main dish - fish comes in varying size from "pensioners special - with 6 chips", up to larger sizes for those with larger appetites. Restaurant is also licensed, for customers wanting a drink with meal. Of course the downside is the price, it is fairly expensive for fish and chips - but it is not expensive for a good quality restaurant with good service. If you want a top service and don't mind paying for this, then the Olympus is a winner. If you want a cheaper option without the service, then there's plenty of them around. No complaints at all about the quality of the food, very tasty piece of fish, and well cooked in delicious batter. The good service extends to when you leave the restaurant, with a friendly farewell and thanking you for your custom. There are a few seats outside the restaurant, as well as the huge indoor restaurant, but tables are well spaced apart, so you don't feel as if you are sitting on top of your fellow diners.

I visit The Olympus on a regular basis, usually with family members. We have always found the food to be excellent. Usually we have fish and chips, but there are enough choices to please most people. What always makes it a pleasurable meal is that the staff are very pleasant, well-trained and thoughtful. My aunt (aged 93), visits on her own as well as with us, and is treated like royalty - but then my grand-daughter and her babies are similarly treated! This lunchtime there was the usual excellent pianist playing, and there are special events from time-to-time, e.g. an Afternoon Tea Dance and on the next May Bank Holiday a special weekend with singers etc. Well done to Tasos and his team for all they do!

I took a group of 75 persons to this fabulous establishment on Monday, 27th May.
The food as excellant and the service great.
We were entertained with music and songs from the 40s.
This was superb in every way and I would not hesitate in recomending a visit here by a group or any person.
I cannot understand the previous review.
Well done to Tasos and his staff.

I visited Olympus tonight for the first time. I couldn't fault it. From the moment we walked through the door to leaving we had lovely attentive service from the staff. The food was tasty and the surroundings well .... I've never listened to the background sound of an accomplished pianist whilst eating fish and chips.
Everything was faultless!

OK, it's better equipped and laid out than most chippies but what do you want from a chippy ?

The area isn't great and the parking busy, watch out for the ever vigilant wardens. Chips were excellent from good chipping spuds, hot and freshly made. The fish was well overpriced at nearly £5 or a large cod (and it wasn't large even then).

Overall its not cheap and there's many better chippies out there for a lower price unless you feel thats it vital to eat your chips to music. Overrated I'm afraid..

It's a perfect place to take visitors to the north west to taste wonderful traditional fish and chips with bread and butter and a pot of tea. The service is excellent and friendly - they'll help you with your coat! and there's a new grand piano with a pianist playing gently in the background.
