I stayed here again for one night whilst on business in Preston and had a good experience. I managed to get a space in the hotel's small car park, which was an unexpected bonus as the nearest paid parking is a bit of a trek with luggage. Check-in was very efficient and my 5th floor room was adequate for a one-night stay, although it was very cold on arrival, due mainly to the draughty secondary glazing. The bathroom was a tad pokey and I'm not really a fan of over the bath showers, especially with a fabric shower curtain - a bit old hat in this day & age?
I ate in the restaurant in the evening and enjoyed both good food and excellent service from the lovely Dyan, who was a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was average with the usual lukewarm hot buffet but there were enough other choices that no-one need go away hungry.
All in all this is a decent city centre hotel, suitable for a single night, and I would stay here again when next in Preston.

Stayed for 4 nights during the week. Main road runs round the side of the hotel so some traffic noise. But location is super, easy to get to with bus station next door and train station a 15 minute walk. Decent on site parking. Right next door to the town centre 5 minutes takes you to all the shopping centres and eating houses.
The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere, clean tidy and staff go overboard to make you feel welcome.
The bar and restaurant and chill out area are perfect for that personal touch.
Breakfast was good but need to get your timing right for the food to be warm and plentyfull.
The evening dining had Dyan looking after us. So on ball shes unbelieveable, nearly too good. Suggests everything you need before you think about it. So 10 for service. The menu mets most needs and was always freshly cooked. Only downside was frozen chunky chips with my fish not great. But only complaint after 4 days breakfast and dinners.

Very nice and professional staff.
The sympathy of Dyan and Kamila made me feel at home, with their sympathy.
They also gave me some very useful tips for visiting Preston.

Stayed after a train delay and was very impressed. Excellent value for money. The rooms were clean and very comfortable; there was a little road noise, but that’s to be expected being next to the Ringway. I ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. Dyan, Jawad, and a lovely young lady who was in training were so helpful, and the service was outstanding.

Stayed here with my son for the football for one night. The hotel has everything you could want for a short stay. We ate in the restaurant on arrival and the food was fine, not gourmet but it filled the gap. The room itself was modern and comfortable. The bed was comfy and had a choice of hard and soft pillows. The bathroom had the dreaded shower in the bath which is a pet hate of mine but the pressure and temperature were good. Breakfast the following morning was buffet style and there was plenty of choice. Cooked breakfast, cereals, pastries and plenty more and all you could eat. Very tasty. All in all a pleasant stay and I would highly recommend it

Pleasant hotel, very few parking spaces on site, depending on the volume of vehicles it is not even enough for to stop and unload the luggage. Rooms are good. The hotel bar is only moderately equipped, the bartender could not offer us local beer.

Amazing what can I say, absolutely stunning, lovely walks, amongst superb plantings , gardens fabulous, tea rooms served tasty food and were reasonably priced. We bought some lovely plants too.

A walk around these most attractive gardens is made at your pace and can take between two to three hours. There is such a variety of shrubs, plants, trees and other items of interest. Towards the end of your journey there is a feast of formal gardens - just delightful. The small nursery (where plants may be purchased at reasonable prices) is worth a visit. At journeys end there is the restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of delicious snacks and drinks.

Now that the whole, both house and gardens, are under the control and management of the Trust, this has become an excellent venue for the mature visitor. The famous formal garden by Getrude Jekyl and Edward Lutyens is a delight, if smaller than some might expect, but is vividly contrasted by the amazing woodland, hill and lakes, informal gardens by the Bampfylde family extending for acres up the hill to the north beyond the house. A truly excellent venue, both for dining in the new restaurant, with a small but excellent menu of quality, but also for less formal eating in the courtyard cafe. There is great scope for wonderful walks through the woodland setting. Weddings, generally conducted in the orangery, with the spreading lawns beyond, have the benefit of a beautiful view over Taunton Vale. In addition there is the amazing hall for major events, public meetings and for hire. There is a small garden centre selling plants, a second hand book shop and and a nice gift shop. Entrance fees do seem a bit expensive. Apart from walking and the cafe eats, this is possibly not the ideal venue for groups of small children.
