Got a cheap rate through Sky Perks - 38 GBP for a twin, room only. Check in was fast and frendly. As a priority club member you get free wifi to use in the bar and a free newpaper at weekdays. The inside is much nicer than the outside, the bar and restauant look modern with large windows. The rooms were a tad on the small size (Compared to the Macdonald Manchester) but were clean with a comfey beds and a very clean bathroom. LCD TV. Good shower. The rooms were quiet despite being next to ringway. Good air con in the room.

Paid an extra for 6.75 GBP for the breakfast which was well worth it, very good selection of a buffet style and good quality and service. In fact a friend actually liked the breakfast more here than the Macdonald Manchester.

Central to the city centre so ideal if going out and get a cheap rate.

I choose this hotel as we reguarly stay over in preston to visit friends. having tried sevral of prestons hotels we finally decided to give the holiday Inn ago. what a suprise this is by far the best hotel we have stayed at in the area. From the warm friendly arrival to the immpresively clean room with a modern TV. Every staff member we came in contact was friendly. If you want a drink or food, my advice is not to think its a hotel it will be dear they had plenty of offers on. For once we could invite our friends for a drink and not be embarresed by the prices. To be honest even if they had of been dear the bar was so relaxing and service was so friendly we would of payed it.

For a one night business stop this ticks all boxes. Good food, flexible breakfast times with fresh food, good sized rooms and had no sleep issues. Value priced hotel with free parking. Feel the public areas need a facelift to fit in with Mercure brand. Didn't use leisure facilities but good to know they are there.

Fabulous hotel and simply cannot fault it! Extremely spacious rooms, extremely clean and immaculate. Toiletry supplies fabulous and hairdryer excellent. Staff very helpful and breakfast consisted of a huge array of food/drinks which were all fresh and constantly filled up. Pool area and factilities again, very clean, staff very helpful and fabulous facilities.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and exceptional value for money.

I travelled to this hotel with a group and we were touring Lancashire. I had previously ordered a mobility scooter as my husband has walking difficulties. Imagine my surprise when entering our room - it was equipped for a disabled/wheelchair user ! The 'wardrobe' was a metal bar protruding from the wall, enclosed in a wood surround with 5 hangers of mixed styles. There was no drawer space at all apart from a deep drawer containing a duvet. This we removed and used the space but there was not enough room for us both to use so I kept most of my clothes in my case. We were staying for 4 nights so we had several changes of clothes. The bathroom was for a wheelchair user with a very low hand basin and 'pen' styled enclosure around the shower. Our room was in the front of the hotel so we heard traffic thunder past all the time. The staff however, were very helpful and friendly but some needed guidance when operating the bars. Overall, our room and the rest of the hotel was kept very clean and was well decorated. In conclusion, I would only recommend this hotel for business use/overnight.

I can see there are mixed reviews about this hotel but can honestly say it's quite nice. I stayed 2 nights and had the suite on the first night which is excellent. Large room with separate sitting room. 2 large TVs , robes , slippers even a nespresso machine. The bathroom was spotless and shower large and powerful.
The second night I had a normal room and although it was smaller and none of the extras , it was still clean and comfortable.
Staff seemed friendly, breakfast was adequate, overall good value.

So the hotel is general is quite nice, big car park so parking was never a problem.

Pool and reasonably equipped gym too was a nice addition. The staff are all friendly and very helpful.

The hotel has potential to be very good, but the rooms are pretty tired and need looking at. The lino in the bathroom was stained yellow/brown around the toilet (room 778) and the room smelt musty/dusty/damp. The bed was huge and comfy though and a good size too. Overall it is just a little tired.

There also don't seem to be enough staff either. I was waiting for 20 minutes in the gym for someone to come (despite ringing the bell). When the lad eventually came back he apologised politely as he needed to fetch a mop. My concern is if there were an emergency, no one would be around to help. A similar thing happened in the restaurant on my second night, again the gent apologising for the inconvenience as he was the only one on at the time.

However all this aside I think the level of customer service provided for me is important and the staff certainly succeeded at this! The stay was pleasant and I will more than likely stay again.
