I recently visited and stayed at this hotel over 8 nights from the 24th March -1st April 2017 in room 443 to be precise this was a double room which was my home for over a week whilst I attended training at the hotel. The room was throughly cleaned daily by the wonderful maids who did a fantastic job. The hotel was very comfortable and I slept well for the duration of my stay and I liked having a room where I could fully open a window and also switch the heating of by my radiator so the room temperature was just how I liked it which is always a bonus. The staff in the hotel were all very helpful and accommodating to me during my stay which gave me a really good impression of the overall management of the hotel. The food was fantastic for the duration of my stay so recognition needs to go to the catering staff. I really enjoyed my training and stay at this hotel and this would make me stay at any Mecure hotel again in the future.

After my second = last stay at this marvelous accommodation I sent a review and received a very friendly echo from the general manager. He asked me not to wait another 20 years before returning.
OK, came again 2 years later only to be even more impressed by this unforgettable place.
This time I brought my wife to show her a different quality of hotel experience as compared to the usual UK places we normally get.
So thank you folks, you have managed to keep this place in top shape for more than 25 years.

When we arrived for the wedding we had to leave our bags at reception and check in after the wedding. The hotel seemed nice at first glance.

The wedding was very nice, and the staff were good.

We checked in to our room and it was boiling as the radiator was on full blast. However you could open the window and we turned the radiator off so it cooled down quickly.

The hotel has everything you need, tea, coffee, hairdryer, iron etc. It was clean and tidy.

The view from the hotel was on to the busy road outside. People had clearly thrown things out of the window and it was a shame as when I looked out there were odd bits and bobs on the roof.

Anyway, we went down for the wedding reception and the food was really good. It was a hot buffet and it was good portions. Sometimes at wedding I am peckish not long after due to small portions but I felt full up. The drinks in the hotel were expensive but as we were staying we had a few drinks in the room from home to have in between the wedding and reception.

Overall a good wedding and a good stay.

A more friendly hotel would be hard to find. The staff were typical Bolton. Friendly, couldn't do enough. Fantastic. Rooms were clean if tired. Breakfast excellent. Excellent 3star. B looked as an overflow as the Whites Hotel was full for a charity event, the taxi was £5.

The hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the Macron Stadium so suited us as we were going their to support Peterborough United. The hotel was as we expected from other reviews very clean but a little bit tired. We had a room on the top floor with a view of the stadium. The room was big with a sofa. We chose to go out to eat, but enjoyed the breakfast which was good (would have been excellent if the fresh fruit had been a bit more varied and fresher). Our only other slight gripe was the temperature in the hotel it was too hot, this was ok in our room as we switched off the radiators and opened the windows but at breakfast the windows did not open and despite only wearing a t-shirt and jeans it was uncomfortably hot.

I stayed here with a colleague for work. We found the staff very helpful, the food was lovely, and my room was clean and modern.

My room was clean with lovely pillows and duvets and a clean bathroom.

The breakfast buffet was very good with full English being available as well as continental. This was lovely.

When I need to stay in Preston for work, I will stay at this hotel from now on.

The room was good as was the dinner and breakfast. Parking is very limited, so be warned there is a car park near by, but not the best to have to walk a long way after a long drive!

I've been staying at the Holiday Inn in Preston for two week periods over the last four years (doing a part time course at the local Uni).

I had previously been staying at another hotel in the town but was sick of being woken up at all hours by the other guests.

The holiday inn Preston experience on the whole has been positive. The staff are friendly and have always looked after me well. The rooms are clean and spacious - desk to lay out college work, laptops etc and accomodate the large flat screen television provided. If there was ever an issue in the room - which didn't happen often - maintenance were on hand swiftly to correct any faults (normally a bust light bulb).
Food in the bar is on the pricey side but has always been good quality. Best value for money is the ringway burger - its great. The menu doesn't change much but if you're there for a week or less that's not an issue. Didn't tend to eat in the restuarant - better atmosphere in the bar. There is a small gym located on the top floor - it has enough equipment to work up a sweat.
Location is pretty good - 5 minutes walk to the main high street - although its quite a walk from the train station

Negative comments - mainly the size of the car park. get there early otherwise you end up having to park in the public car park opposite which tends to be frequented by the local hoodlams. Staying on the main road side of the hotel can be quite noisy so I tended to request a room on the bus station side (although you have to ignore the sounds of the buses reversing). The hotel is quite pricey but it really is the only decent one within the town centre.

all in all a hotel which does not deserve to be so far down the review list in my opinion. Top tip - join the priority club rewards scheme - stay there long enough and you get free hotel nights elsewhere...
