This restaurant is great! I don't like cod, so I can get haddock here which is fantastic! A really nice restaurant with very friendly staff!

This eatery in the field it represents is as good as it gets. In fact this is the best fish and chips I have sat down to eat since we dined in a similar establishment in the Northumberland fishing village of Seahouses; that was 30 years ago!

It costs £8.60 for a special meal served with a drink and bread and butter; not cheap by any means but when you enjoy your dining experience as much as we did the cost is secondary. But it has to be said there are much cheaper options on the menu.

The multitude of Staff work tirelessly for Customers, and you will never see them standing around. This is from the minute they open the door for you, till they help you on with your coat when you leave. The Management should give themselves a big pat on the back for having such a motivated workforce.

The rain was responsible for our decision to eat, thank you to the rain and we will be back asap.

This place is legend. Young and old and everyonen in between love this place. The fish, chips and mushy peas are absolutely oustanding. I would say that the Olympus is one of the best restaurants of its kind in the country. The place is spotless, the service exemplary and the interior, recently refurbished, is fit for a king. I know the owner Tassos personally looks after many of his regular customers - and they do return week after week because of the ambience of the place. This is no back street chippy - this is a palace to Britain's great national dish. The food is just fantastic with lovely white firm cod and haddock, perfect mushy peas and great, non greasy chips. If you come to Bolton you really must try it - you won't forget it.

The Olympus restaurant has been a landmark of Bolton town centre (my home town) for many many years, serving customers from its restaurant and adjoining 'chippy'. I believe it has been owned by the same Greek family throughout its life.

The Olympus offers great food at a relatively premium price (in comparison to a traditional chippy) but it does represent excellent value given the standard of the food and surroundings.

There is a huge dining area (75+ covers), lots of extremely polite and attentive staff and the dining area itself has just been renovated to an extremely high standard.

If you are in Bolton for the day I urge you to visit this place and have lunch - you wont regret it. It offers traditional fish and chips and true hospitality. It is what Harry Ramsden's used to be!

Other restaurants could learn a lot from the Olympus.

It's a few years since I last visited the Olympus Fish & Chip Restaurant so when I found myself in Bolton town centre one lunchtime, I decided to try it again.

After being politely welcomed by a smartly dressed member of staff, I was invited to choose a table. Once seated, a menu & cutlery were placed on the table within seconds. The menu always has a pensioners' special. There are also Just Enough, Standard & Whopper sized fish &chip meals on the menu. The Standard portion of fish includes chips, peas & a slice of white or brown bread. Beverages include a choice of :- a pot of tea, cup of coffee or a soft drink. The Standard meal costs £8.60 which is rather expensive in my opinion but the fish (Haddock) was beautiful.

When customers are leaving the restaurant, staff help cusomers on with their coats & always open the door for them, at the same time thanking them for their custom.

No better fish and chips in the area. Always excellent service and great food. Spotlessly clean, great new toilet, grand piano, it is an experience. Bit pricey but worth it. Always busy tells its own story.

Lovely atmosphere and surrounding, clean and fresh, modern style inside. A pianist added a lovely touch, making it a peaceful lunch. Service is above all, staff extremely friendly and helpful, even assisting customers with their coats. The meal itself was the best i've had in the area, with numerous meal deals.

I brought 24 people to eat here as part of an organised day trip from Birmingham . They open the door for you, nothing is too much trouble, I have not had better fish and chips since my childhood and we were all very impressed. Its no surprise that the waiters and waitress were all superb as owner Tassos leads from the front, chats to customers, clears tables and provides superlative customer service. As part of a group booking offer we returned for a cream tea and Tassos had a superb pianist on his grand piano who played suitable music and requests. An oasis in the centre of Bolton, The scones were delicious and are made by Tassos Mum to whom we were introduced, As we left we were helped to put coats on. If you want to impress your partner or a prospective partner take them here!. We will return.

We were attracted to the Olympus by the people queuing to get in. It must be good, we all thought. We waited about 15 minutes, which is 15 minutes more than I would usually wait, before being shown to our table. Then you have to go and queue to order. We went for the pensioners special at £7:20, wanting mushy peas we spent more. When it came it was a disappointment, not only was it a small portion but the fish was greasy and the portion of peas was about enough for one not the three of us. "Tartar sauce?" "Of course Sir." But when it came, in a small bowl, it had a skin on it and looked as though we weren't the first to use it. Yes, the toilets and the piano are great, I even tipped the piano player but he carried on playing, but the food was very poor. I can only think that there aren't to many eateries in Bolton, or the populace don't get out much!
