From start to finish of your stay you will be treated the most delightful welcome and excellent service levels

If you are travelling with a car the valet service will park it for you in their hotel car park

Your car is available to you through out the day on request from reception by the valet service. No charge is applied for this service.

Rooms are tastefully decorated in the style that you would expect from a five star establishment

The hotel is situated on a hillside from which you can view excellent views over St Peter Port

The hotel has various restaurants and bars to choose from. the Brasserie offers daily meal service from breakfast until including a dinner service in the evening. The hotel also has an Indian restaurant which has a usual six tables in a small cosy room. Booking a table is advised as the food is prepared and served to a highly desirable taste sensation.

To sum up if you are looking for something special and exceptional service look no further.

A special mention from myself and I go out to an excellent member of the restaurant team. Pamela is an asset to this hotel. She has a great talent of delivering a great customer service. She was a delight to speak with and deserves a mention.

Lovely old hotel , packed with history and in a great location.
Food on the first night was really good but a little pricey , breakfast was also good on the first morning , however breakfast on the second morning was very much not up to standard , when the waitress removed my half eaten plate she asked if it was good , I replied just OK , and she smiled and removed my plate , was she listening , I don't think so . apart from that the staff were really professional , almost faultless . Room was ok , but very small but everything we needed

From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by the staff and check in went very smoothly. We had a tour of the hotel and our bags were taken to our room for us. We ate at some of the recommended restaurants and appreciated them being suggested to us. The housekeepers do an excellent job, their hard work is very much appreciated and we could not fault the cleanliness of the room! We enjoyed the evening treats after turn down too! The supplies of coffee and biscuits in the room were a nice touch and our water was regularly replaced when it ran out. The staff who work in the restaurant and bar are very attentive and made our breakfast there most enjoyable. The kitchen staff and chefs also deserve praise as everything we ate was delicious, we could not fault the food at all or the quality of the produce available like the fruit at breakfast. We used the space facilities twice, it was disappointing that the steam room was out of service. The sauna was great however did have a funny smell it could do with some aromas in there.
Our stay went so smoothly, it is a beautiful hotel and the staff and quality of everything was exceptional and we would definitely recommend your hotel and stay again!

We love this hotel. Although we had pre-
booked to stay in another hotel in St Peter Port, this was our go to place every evening. The Staff greeted us like old friends , especially Ryan the barman and the Piano player . The ambience was warm and friendly. Next time we come to Guernsey we will definitely book to stay here. Thank you all at Old Govt House hotel for helping to make our visit to the beautiful island of Guernsey so memorable

A large bustling restaurant (order at the counter) with regular clientele and charming staff. All is done at top speed. The fish and chips were the hottest I've ever been served - fish was lovely.

I have passed this place so many times and just looked at is as a local 'greasy spoon', and never really given it the time i should have

How so wrong could i be!

We called in just to see what it was like - greeted by very attentive staff who showed us straight a table. the restaurant decor is lovely and would put most other town centre restaurants to shame.

menu is good with many options and choices, and the food arrived promptly - and what could only be described as fish and chips like they used to be

Well worth a trip!!!

i visited here with a friend, my mum and my son. we had brilliant service from the off. they were polite took our order when we were ready not when they were ready. it was a fabulous meal and nothing was left on the plates apart from the bread and butter and a few chips as the meals were big and the price was definitely worth paying

An orangery in Bolton! Surely not! But here the Olympus has truly come of age. A dedicated Fish and Chip restaurant to rival, nay beat, its famous rival Rarry Hamsden! The family run business cares for its customers from their entry to exit.
Staff dedicated to producing the finest quality fish and chips with a good service to boot. Not a waiter service for orders - go to the till.
Make sure you visit the toilets!!

We stumbled on this restaurant during a brief visit to Bolton and were not aware that the Olympus was known for their fish & chips. We ordered sandwiches and sat there eating and wishing we had ordered fish & chips as everyone else. Our food was good and serice was excellent. When we go back you can be sure that we will enjoy our visit. PS: This is not a fancy restaurant but everyone is made to feel at home. Don't pass it up if you are in Bolton.

I tried Olympus on a whim a couple of months back, and I've been back constantly since!

Firstly, the service is wonderful! You're greeted at the door and shown to your table, told about specials, how to order etc, and if you've been before, you're remembered fondly! All of the staff are smartly dressed and smile often, and are lovely to talk to. They can't do enough for you!

The owners are often at the order point, and sometimes come over and talk to diners, which is a lovely experience. The female owner has her own recipe for tartare sauce which is both served and sold in the restaurant, and is frankly the best tartare sauce I've ever tasted!

Moving on to the food. The menu has a great selection and a good variety of fish types, as well as alternative meals rather than fish and chips style. The fish is wonderfully tasty and the batter is the best I've ever had on a fish, both crispy, tasty and fresh. The chips are fluffy and tasty too. You know that the food has been cooked fresh, and not kept under a hot lamp or anything.

The venue itself is modern contemporary, bright, spacious and very clean, and decorated in a lovely modern style with pleasant soft music playing. The toilets are also very clean and modern.

I've thoroughly enjoyed every visit I've had to Olympus, and tell all of my friends and family about it, and to try it out themselves, from the warm welcome at the door, to the staff helping you put your jacket on as you leave, and thanking you for your custom.

Bravo, Olympus. Best fish and chip restaurant by far!
