Room was large clean and showers was hot and powerful, staff in bar were helpful

stayed on a Sunday night and there were 2 weddings taking place - you may want to ask for a room away from main events rooms - there are tables and chair layed out directly under the windows of rooms i think I was lucky as the wedding near my room finished around 11 and weather was not great so people were not outside much.

The hotel does not reply to telephone calls or emails, we called before arrival to check about car charging and after about an item we left behind.

While the hotel has a car charger is tucked in a Corner and parking bays are marked for disabled parking - they were block by van on arrival and other non electric cars over night.

The staff were a credit to the hotel; very helpful and friendly especially the bar lady that offered to make a cocktail from fresh when she informed us there was no cocktail menu. Disappointing that there's no cocktail menu though?!

The waiting staff work tirelessly in the restaurant and at breakfast. We were surprised to see the same staff at breakfast that had worked the previous evening, looking happy and fresh and being just as helpful.

I paid to upgrade to the best rooms (privilege) and the rooms were ok. Not outstanding, just satisfactory. No biscuits, only 4 milks, no glasses for a glass of water at bedtime, no special toiletries; I was expecting Elemis or something similar but got branded Dunkenhalgh shampoo! They annoyingly have a lid that you snap off so once they're opened you can't take them home anyway. Not that we wanted Dunk branded toiletries though!

The most frustrating thing was they accommodated us right opposite the function room with a Country & Western birthday party going on into the early hours. Why have the best rooms opposite a function room?! And why put guests who are obviously not at the function in the rooms opposite the function room?! None of us got any sleep, it was terrible. I suggest future guests reading this; take a peak out of your window, if you can see the court yard and there's a function you're not at - move!!!!

It was a lovely touch that they left a box of chocolates and a card in one of the rooms; we were celebrating a Golden Wedding which I had mentioned in the notes on booking. I didn’t know about it though so it was just luck that the happy couple chose the correct room. They were very pleased with them.

The spa was pleasant and the treatments lush, although there were no towels so we had to use the ones from our room which wasn’t very nice when they got wet and soggy at the spa and we were expected to use them to get ready for the evening. We had been informed of this on check in and apologised to that they had not had a delivery of towels in 3 days. Maybe a courtesy call to us the day before would have been nice though and we would have brought our own.

The food was good, but limited in choice and frustratingly didn’t specify on the mains whether they were veggie or not. The starters had the V and GF symbols but not the mains. We all ordered food to be told that is veggie to change to something else which was also veggie!

The food was included in our package which was a nice surprise to get the full 3 courses included. Unfortunately one of our party was not feeling too well in the evening so swapped his main for a side salad. I was surprised to be charged for this on departure.

Breakfast was ok, however the scrambled egg was cold and it would have been nice to have tomatoes and mushrooms on offer. Nice sausages though and I liked the hash browns.

All in all an ok stay, but if I was to book another spa break I would probably look further afield.

We had a lovely time at the spa starting with an afternoon tea, and finishing off with dinner in the restaurant. The spa manager was very nice and expressed interest in us. It was nice to have a chat before heading into the spa. The treatments were great, and I wish they were longer! Sara, Lily and generally the restaurant staff were lovely, the service was super quick and the food was divine! I liked the decor of the place, and the mocktail made was delicious!
Unfortunately we didn't need to pay for parking upon arrival and this was unclear on the site and spa confirmation so it's a good idea to check with the hotel first before paying anything like we did. Other than that, it was a great day! I would recommend this place :)

Room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Coffee and tea in room and we collected additional from reception. Booked meals as part of package, food was delicious and great value. Car parking fees were suspended which was good news, no need to book parking space in advance as huge car park at side of hotel. Young lady in spa was on her hands and knees cleaning skirting boards, ensuring everywhere was clean. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed seeing the guests at the 2 weddings that took place during our stay. Book direct with Accor for best value.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. It was a nice hotel in what looked like an old castle. Staff were friendly & helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant as I was part of a coach party & it was included in our stay. We chose our food before eating which I thought would help staff know who was eating what! Even though we pre ordered it was chaos in the restaurant as staff kept asking us what food we were missing! The service was slow. I had pate to start with which usually comes with bread or toast but there was no bread or toast, I had to ask staff twice for it! I had pasta for the main meal which came with vegetables which I thought was a bit odd as pasta is usually on it's own. The vegetables were cold.
The room was nice & clean & spacious but the only thing missing was there was no facilities like a kettle in the room to make a drink. The breakfast was good with lots to choose from.

Located very close enough to the motorway network to be easy to get to, but far enough away and shrouded to ensure that there is no noise, this is a great hotel with exceptional facilities, including the pool, spa and gym. It was made better with its new refurbishment and decor last year. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much hassle.

Long drive to an impressive building - the perfect setting for the wedding to which we'd been invited.
Check-in was smooth except we had to carry all our luggage through the hotel and upstairs as surprisingly in a substantial building such as this, there are no lifts and help was only offered as an afterthought.
Our room (92) was a bit soulless but just as we'd booked - with two very comfy double beds. The double aspect was a bonus and the view gorgeous.
For the size of the room, the wardrobe was miniscule - less than a standard single I'd say and hardly any full length hanging space due to the ironing board provided.
To our surprise, there was no phone in the room. On enquiring, we were told just to nip down (-quite a nip actually as we were at an extreme end of the large building), even in the middle of the night or to use our mobile! I did wonder how an even more elderly couple might cope with this inconvenience, especially in an emergency.
The bathroom was the major problem. Two of the four recessed lights were out of action and even when they were replaced, the light was not good. Thank goodness we only had a shower as the bath didn't drain and even when this was attended to, there was little improvement. Added to this, there was no seal whatsoever between the screen and the bath, so each time we showered, a lake formed on the bathroom floor.
The restaurant provided a decent package dinner on our arrival and weekend breakfast. However, on the Monday we were told that breakfast ended at 9.30am. Consequently, the queues for seating and the buffet were long and the kitchen clearly couldn't cope with prompt replenishment.
These problems were a shame and a surprise. The hotel hosted three weddings that weekend I believe, so should have been prepared for many guests.

Modern, stylish generously sized family rooms with joy of two proper king size beds in family room instead of the sofabed put-u-up found in other hotels. Nice bar and good breakfast. Close to motorway which was a bonus for us. Smooth service and friendly staff. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again
