Food was great at the courtyard but the cost to enter the gardens was far too expensive. Was not worth it

The formal gardens were very pretty and we enjoyed the walk round the lakes, we had taken a picnic and we were disappointed that we could not take our picnic into the gardens so we could spend a long time chatting and relaxing instead you have to use the area provided next to the entrance and the children's playground,so not very easy to have a conversation and a glass of wine

We loved visiting these beautiful gardens, and learning about the history of the area.
Great food and the staff were very nice!

Lovely gardens. Cafe bit disapointing, they pride themselves on their chef, but the food is so disapointing. The cakes and deserts are awful. Xmas fairs charge shoppers £3 to look at stalls! And that's before the gates! And they charge the stall holders....so that's three pound less to spend on stalls, surely the whole point is to get people out there, who may consider then paying to go into gardens or buy off stall holders? Like I say, gardens good, don,t bother with anything else.

I have now stayed at this hotel several times and have concluded it is a lot better than I first thought. On a recent occasion, I walked from the train station, which took me 15 minutes. It is otherwise about £6 by taxi. The hotel is immediately next to the "listed" bus station. I have also had a better chance to investigate the area. It is very near to the shops and only a five minute walk from the Harris Gallery, a museum which is free to enter and well worth a visit. There are plenty of eateries in the area, although the immediate neighbourhood does feel a bit dead on a weekday night - it may be livelier at weekends.

Check-in is handled efficiently with helpful and welcoming staff. My rooms have all been very comfortable, well-equipped either for work or leisure, with a good desk and a comfy chair. They are well lit. There has been a large, flat screen TV, with Freeview. The rooms have all had an iron and board, as well as tea/coffee making facilities. They even provide biscuits and, on the last occasion I stayed, I had a special note as a loyalty card holder, some more biscuits and a bottle of water, which I very much appreciated in the hot weather. The rooms have all had good air conditioning, though. The beds are extremely comfortable, with quality linen. The towels are also good quality and it is nice to have a bath in the bathroom, and not just a shower. The rooms have always been spotlessly clean.

I have enjoyed my breakfasts, with a good selection of well-cooked hot foods and "continental" breakfast items. There is one particular member of staff, I think she may be originally from the Philippines, who is very good at making diners feel welcome and wishing them an enjoyable breakfast. She receives my "employee of the month" award every time, staring everyone's day with a beaming smile!

We started using the hotel for meetings about 2 years ago. Visit about 3 times a year. Good value for both the meeting rooms and bedrooms.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Normal holiday inn fare for breakfast - which is fine.
Location v convenient- can easily walk from the train station. Bus station virtually adjoining.
Parking can be a squeeze in their own car park - these is a multi-storey next door though which has recently been refurbished and is inexpensive.

We continue to return.

Those are not by far the best hotel though if you have to stop at Preston then there is not much to choose from if you want to stay in the centre. Hotel needs a refurb though rooms are clean and spacious. Not so wheelchair friendly in the evening as you have to go to first the floor to get the lift. There are parking and a disabled space.
