Originally booked in for spa treatments for my Daughters 30th Birthday in March. Treatments were out of this world. Thank you Karen Holland. Barmaid Irene was so much fun. Unfortunately this was the highlight. After booking in January, confirming the week before and checking in, it was failed to be pointed out to us that there would be Thomas Cook delegates and no restaurant - despite being asked what time we would like to eat. There was a buffet which was more from a greasy spoon and we needed to pay £16 each as we weren't part of TC. Our room was right in the middle of them. Woken at 6.30am with them getting ready for the days conference and breakfast. Had to book a table at a local restaurant - which was lovely - couldn't wait to leave the next morning. Made a complaint to manager Nadine Saxton who offered us a complementary weekend. Fast forward four weeks we are back again. So different - enjoyed the spa facilities and the meal in the evening was absolutely lovely and we were given rooms away from the wedding guests in a quieter part of the hotel. Irene the barmaid was also there and remembered us. Like greeting an old friend. Thank you Nadine for resolving this and giving us a memorable stay this time for the right reason. Restored our faith in your company. Thank you Sue and Jemma.

Stayed one night with national holidays. Double room on 2nd floor with view of the Macron Stadium. Bathroom bit tired could do with update. Evening meal was lovely waiting staff very young did have to ask for plates to be moved before next course, managed to have time for a swim in the leisure pool, staff were lovely. Breakfast was plentiful in nice atmosphere although cooked breakfast could’ve been bit hotter. Had pleasant stay, would recommend.

Stayed here on a Tuesday night, pleasant check in girl, nice room, no tea or coffee in room which was unusual, lovely bed and the en suite was nice. Food in the restaurant was to a very good standard I had the soup and steak and ale pie.
I would certainly stay here again.

Rooms were modern and clean, the night staff Mick and Chris are true professionals - I was here for 10 days for job training, throughout they were kind and looked out for us the entire time. Couldn't say a bad word about them.

I last stayed here in March 2016, wasn't a particularly success experience then and unfortunately little has changed.
Bonus is a pleasant reception, a young French lady who did her very best to make me feel welcome.

Decor of the room, No Change
Decor of the bathroom, No Change

Still a need for investment

Bar staff, totally useless is an understatement. Didn't know how to make a bitter Shandy. We're unable to resolve a minor complaint over drink charged to a room. Completely inadequate.

Ate off site

Breakfast starts at 7am, in my case food was late, despite being pre cooked and was delivered mostly cold.

£104 for the room
£116 with breakfast

If needs must

Decor is very dated, but room was clean. Bed was very comfortable, but walls extremely thin and I could hear the gentleman in the room next door on the phone. I know that I was on my own, but only given 1 cup, 1 towel etc! No info on the hotel (menu, useful numbers etc) in the room which is unusual.
Didn’t have an evening meal, but did have breakfast. No one there to greet / seat me, so just chose a table. Fairly good selection of food, but no scrambled egg and no one to ask for some porridge.
Very large free car park which is a bonus so you don’t have to park next to someone. If in the area again would choose somewhere else. Nothing in particular wrong with the hotel, but nothing special either. Had a company discount, but was still £85 B&B; a Premier Inn offers better value for money.

Stayed overnight, room was clean and comfortable, bathroom was bright and spotless.
Plenty of choice at breakfast, staff are sometimes over-run when a bus party is there.
There is not a large car park so get there early.

Good clean well maintained with small car parking space (free) very nice efficient staff, reception is on the first floor making it a strange experience when entering the building and the lift will only descend to reception after a certain time in the evening (H&S) however this would prove difficult for the mobility impaired who may need to get onto the ground floor past lift restricted timeframe, free newspaper, a range of telly channels but subject to finding them.

Breakfast was available and was very good very well maintained with lots of staff to hand frequently checking and keeping the areas well stocked. Coffee served by staff direct at your table. Staff made this part of the stay have the looked after feel.

Rooms have tea and coffee however only two sachets of normal coffee so had to request additional.

Plenty of nice and fluffy towels in addition to a very good large shower with plenty of available hot water.

My key card kept re setting so required two additional trips for re setting making it a little inconvenient.

Wine by the glass is a little expensive in comperison to the bottle.

Overall the staff and the clean environment made the stay as very good one; few tweaks would make it a lot better!

We want the management and owner's to know how "Phenomenal" the staff is, at this hotel. First the reception desk staff is outstanding, Dylan is fantastic in his job, he fits the front desk well. The breakfast, lunch and dinner staff are, "Absolutly Exceptional"! Tashon Gallagher,
Lee Stevenson, Josie Gaskell, Scott Ferguson, Lorraine Hickson, Laura, Christen (the bride), and anyone else we may have forgotten, please forgive us. We can't say enough about them, we found the staff responsive to all our needs. They were very professional, warm, caring and down to earth, making us feel very comfortable and at home, we very much appreciate that, and nothing, and we do mean nothing, went unnoticed or unappreciated by us. The chefs were fantastic, the food was always delicious, fresh and hot. The maids were very nice and efficient, we appreciate their service. This hotel is setting a great example of what good service looks like, Bravo! Now, the appearance of the hotel, fair, the cleanliness, fair, security on room doors, poor. Bathroom lighting, poor, entire hotel needs renovation. Owners, the exterior and interior need to match the phenomenal service your staff delivers each and everyday.

Thank You, it's been a pleasure.

Stayed overnight on way back south from Scotland. Not the prettiest location, but handy. The hotel was very tidy and well run; everyone was very helpful and friendly so it was a comfortable stay.

The food was good enough, if unexciting. Personally, we prefer something a little cosier in decor - I am sure it is fine for the business fraternity!
