The programme of celebrations to commemorate the 300th Birthday of David Garrick comes to an end this month with a fascinating finale exploring the Lichfield-bred actor’s relationship with Peg Woffington, a Dublin actress who became one of the leading ladies of the 18th century stage.
After 6 months of auditions, rehearsals and technical tweaking, a cast of 70 local actors, some whom will be taking to the stage for the first time, will perform a musical version of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream: The Dreaming.
Wedding bells are in the air next week as the West End smash hit children’s production, The Scarecrows’ Wedding, arrives at the Lichfield Garrick theatre.
