Hestercombe Gardens are well worth a visit. The grounds are extensive and interesting with a wide range of interesting features. The terrain is nice and hilly to make for a good walk, too.

Great woodland walks with stunning views over Taunton. The formal gardens are beautifully maintained. Truly a slice of paradise.

The formal part of the garden is well maintained thanks to professionals and volunteers.
One disappointing experience with meals. Porsered for a group. Some items unavailable. And a long wait. Must have been staffing problems. Else all well.

Love strolling around the woodland area and landscaped gardens. Even better dogs are allowed on leads. Lovely view from the top end. Afterwards, unwind and enjoy coffee and cake in the cafe and dogs welcomed in here also. Good plant buying area and small shop.

Hestercombe is one of the best presented historical gardens you can visit. The site is fairly compact and there is loads to see. Mature trees, lakes, water features, nature. An amazing formal garden with fantastic planting.

We are regular visitors and enjoy a walk through the gardens and a visit to the coffee shop. We always spend Mothering Sunday having lunch in the restaurant. Lovely staff, good food, great tea and coffee. There is a splendid second hand book shop. A thoroughly pleasant place to spend a day

To get here was through many lanes, you feel as if you are lost or will never get to the destination. However once there it was worth it so pretty. Our friends from a Sussex thoroughly enjoyed the day

Gorgeous food in a stunning setting! Perfect for food in spring or summer, food was fresh and delicious. Me and family all ordered their handmade quiches, and we all commented they were the best we had ever tasted. Food is very artisan, mainly paninis and baguettes with fillings such as avocado, aioli and rocket. Very modern and rustic.
The restaurant is difficult to access for disabled persons, as it is a fair walk from the car park on a stony path, but we did drive up this path to drop off and reverse back.
There is also a few shops to look around in the courtyard where the restaurant is. And plants available to purchase in the flower shop.
Access to the gardens and the house is possible, but there is a charge to do so.

We absolutely love visiting Hestercombe and love everything about it.
The gardens are wonderful, and there’s so much to explore. Waterfalls, walled gardens, lakes, beautiful buildings, there’s so much to see.
We take our spaniel with us to have a wander around as well; it’s brilliant that it’s dog friendly!
The cafe/restaurant is also very good, although can be busy.
Would really recommend visiting if you’re in the area or live nearby.
