Walked the whole length of the estate and loked arund the house & beautiful gardens. Also had an afternoon tea which was fantastic! We managed to use the Gardeners World 2for1 which made our visit even more kinder to our pockets too.

Worth the £12.50 but not a huge amount to look at beyond the original laid out gardens. Nice walk for the dog, fabulous waterfall. Good couple of hours max.
Avoid the afternoon tea at the stables. Asked for feedback but didnt like the fact that we were honest about the oversweetness of the cakes, one of which so dry gave me a coughing fit. Kept us waiting as a result for the bill but clearly argued with each other over who was going to deliver it. Given the impression they believed we were looking for a discount. No forks given and had to be asked for. Maybe try the cafe instead.

What a beautiful place. Really good for disabled access with a mobility scooter. We liked all the unusual folly buildings and feeding the ducks. Staff were friendly and helpful. Reasonable costs, and half price for disabled people and their carer. Good spacious car park. Lovely gift shop and second hand bookshop. Up some steps of mobility is difficult. Beautiful formal gardens . Lovely irises. Some of this area not so easy to access cos of steps. We had a really lovely lunch, even treated ourselves to a gorgeous pudding. It was beautifully presented.

What beautiful gardens & we were very lucky with the weather. Seemed busy but very well managed flow of people. Felt very safe.

Attended a wedding here. Obviously we had a great time celebrating our friends wedding. Great location, friendly service but not the most polished.
Didn't detract from the day & would recommend to others.

Really beautiful gardens well worth a visit. The walks were gorgeous but we were very disappointed with our lunchtime meal. It was well over half an hour before we were served anyything. We ordered Cornish trout which turned out to be farmed salmon which the waiter insisted was trout after he had said 'who's is the salmon'!!!! which was priceless since if it had been a trout it would have been the size of a pike! The service was charming but poorly trained. We were told we couldn't have a side order of chips and then watched as neighbouring tables were served piles of chips along with their
burger orders! A side vegetable of pak choi with soy sauce was rock hard at one end and overcooked and slimy at the other. Such a pity as we would have given the garden a 5 rating otherwise.

Enjoyed a visit here on a very hot day. The walk through the wooded area and round the lake and waterfall was very enjoyable. The formal gardens are lovely. Managed to see the Orangery before it was closed for a wedding.
Some impressive views of the Blackdown Hills.
Glad we were able to use our 2 for 1 Gardener's World ticket for entry.

If you book on line you get a discounted entry ticket.
The grounds are stunning as you follow the map around the estate many many photo opportunities.
The formal gardens are beautifully laid out and simply stunning especially the Dutch gardens.
The house is a little disappointing as it was the former home of the Somerset fire brigade and there is no furniture in the rooms just several paintings on the walls.
The shop is well stocked and the lovely ladies who run the shop are friendly and god fun.
Would highly recommend the gardens

We had my daughters wedding at Hestercombe on Friday 30th July. What an amazing venue. We were greeted as we arrived. The Orangery was beautiful for the service. We then went into the barn for our meal. The staff were attentive, courteous and nothing was too much trouble. Very professional Maitre D .The food was incredible, I am vegetarian - was not disappointed. I managed Hotels and Restaurants in the past - so tend to be over critical - I could not fault anything. We had Pizzas in the evening, again really tasty and lovely staff. We left around midnight, thank you Hestercombe for making this day so special, just what we all needed after the last 16 months.

We visited with low expectations. What we found was a lovely walk with plenty of spectacular views and a waterfall kids could paddle in. Very peaceful and the kids were exhausted and happy.

Not much in the house as the gallery was between exhibitions.
