A gift from my daughter to have lunch and a visit to the gardens. A lovely place to take a little 'time out' for quiet reflection - walked through the beautiful gardens & enjoyed the daffodils & views. Not necessarily a place to go if you have a disability, as it is quite steep in places, but maps guide you on appropriate paths. The lunch was simply amazing & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

We were not expecting massed Rhodos and Camellias but were disappointed to find that, compared with National Trust gardens we have visited recently, there was very little in bloom apart from the Jekyllish Bergenia beds and a handful of Magnolias..
The landscapes are impressive but £240,000 spent on restoring yet another faux temple could have been better used to replace some of the all pervading Laurels with something more interesting. If you are a dog walker or want space for your children to run then this could be for you. If you're a gardener then wait until Summer.
Having covered the ground we headed for the cafe and found the food expensive and disappointing. Before zapping up another "Seafood Bisque with Crab Gnocci" the chef should first visit the Harbour Inn at Lyme Regis, try their fish dishes and weep! A while back it was worth a visit using Tesco vouchers, but not now at full price.

After a very enjoyable lunch at The Column Restaurant, we enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the grounds. Lots of different areas to enjoy at different levels. Not a lot to see in bloom but still very enjoyable and surprised how peaceful it was for a Saturday afternoon.
We finished off with a coffee in the cafe before leaving which is near the entrance. Coffee Ok and enjoyed sharing a slice of chocolate banana cake. We sat inside which wasn’t great and would normally opt for the outside seating but blowing a gale

Lovely walk around the gardens, snowdrops, daffs coming out and beautiful birdsong. Several walks available depending on your needs in both formal Gertrude Jekyll garden and more wild landscape garden. Cafe food very good and even has ice cream for dogs.

We had a really enjoyable time wandering up the hill at Hestercombe, seeing interesting follies and lots of daffodils. Very few visitors meant we had a peaceful and relaxing visit. There is a restruant on site with good choice of mains, sandwiches and snacks. The sandwiches were huge accompanied by tasty salad. The shop had a good variety of gifts and there are also plants for sale.

Bought two tickets via travel zoo. An excellent day out superb gardens and great vista from all the buidings created to enjoy the view.
Shame about the cafe charging £8 a sandwich and £3 for a small coke. The chicken caeser was almost certainly mayonaisse. Take a picnic

Had a very pleasant visit. Beautiful gardens, Well thought and planned. Not keen on the house. What a waste of a lovely building but the grounds were excellent and will definitely revisit.

Went here for a cream tea with my Mother using a voucher I was gifted at Christmas. The location is really lovely and worth a visit. The cream tea was nice and we devoured it all. Service was pretty slow even though it was not busy hence 4 stars rather than 5.

Huge gardens of great variety on many levels and with stunning man made waterfalls. Truly a lovely walk.there is a gift shop and also plants can be bought.

Finally a catering facility supplying meals or just a hot drink on a chilly soring morning. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, repeatedly if you own a pooch. I believe you can purchase an annual season ticket if you live locally.

Cold but sunny spring day but Hestercombe offers a lot. The children loved the waterfall, the adults liked the more formal gardens. The walks round the grounds are well looked after and there are some lovely views and vistas. Tasty lunch in the courtyard cafe. A lovely afternoon in the fresh air for ages 2 - 66, something for everyone to look at and enjoy.
