Lovely welcome at reception and useful information given about our visit. Beautiful gardens. Very well tended and laid out. Loved winding our way around the various pathways in the gardens. Plenty to do during your visit. Had lunch in the cafe. Lots of choice and reasonably priced. Seating inside and out. Great service. Interesting exhibition about the history of the property in the house. Would love to see the rooms in their original state. Beautiful shop with lots of lovely gifts. The plants being sold there were of a very high quality and very tempting. Really enjoyed our visit.

We were in the area and decided to visit these gardens. We explored the whole areas using the map and really enjoyed the walk. These gardens are bigger than you think and can take a while to wander through them. They have been restroying the gardens fro the last twenty years so I was glad to contribute to this. The Georgian style gardens near the house have been beautifilly restored.

The house is also beautiful from the outside. The inside is being used as a gallery and second hadn book shop. They have a restaurant in the old house or you can enjoy something small in the the excellent cafe in the old hourse barricks. They also have a great garden shop here to stock on plants or other bits and pieces.

We spent just over two hours here with the walk and lunch and really enjoyed our visit.

Hestercombe has lovely walks through parkland dotted with unusual follies (many of which have been recently renovated), a wildflower meadow, pear lake and fine formal gardens designed by Lutyens and Jekyll, small plant centre and cafe. The house also contains a large gallery space. Plenty here to fill a summer afternoon.

A little bit off the beaten track near Taunton, these beautiful and interesting historic gardens, spread over several acres, are well worth a visit. A good variety of planting and hard landscaping and there is a very pleasant walk up the hill with a variety of ponds, buildings and views to enjoy. Finish - or start - your visit at the well stocked shop and restaurant. There are often interesting art exhibitions in the house. Highly recommended.

Lovely day out with elderly relative, teenage son and our young dog. We had a relaxing stroll around the gardens, enjoyed the trivia questions. Our dog enjoyed stretching his legs and meeting new friends on his adventure walk.

We weaved our way to the seating area/food courtyard where there was a bank holiday BBQ. My rellie and I had a lovely sandwich and a cool drink, and my son had a milkshake and partook in the BBQ. Overall the food was delicious, my son did comment he has had better milkshakes, but it looked good with the swirls of cream piled high!

We were too full to partake in any desserts/icecream a real shame as it was a warm day and an icecream would've been lovely!

We didn't get inside the house this visit, will save it for another visit...

A little hidden treasure, with picnic area just before you go inside the grounds with tables and chairs and a little play area, facilities close by. A lovely little garden shop...plants and gifts.

A lovely family catch up...a little something for everyone!

it is evident the amount of work that has gone to making this a most injoyable place to visit.
There is a nice Cafe where you can get Tea and Coffee, cakes and light snacks etc.
Well worth a visit if you have a couple of hours to spare.

My friend who had broken her ankle was able to hire a mobility scooter for only £4 and we were only charged half price entry which was appreciated. It was pleasant to walk up the hills and see the magnificent views. The lakes and waterfalls were pretty but I have to admit I was disappointed in the formal gardens. We went in the cafe and had a very nice coffee, the chocolate cake my friend had was lovely but the pastry on my tart was soggy.
